Desert first

Have you ever eaten you desert first, and then your super? That way, you will not be full for a sweet thing to enjoy. I went to an Amish resturant in Lancaster, PA, USA, many years ago. That is where I first had enjoyed that pleasure.

I couldn't even imagine eating desert first. I have seen my son doing this on many occasions. He would even eat dinner at breakfast time and breakfast at dinner time, but not me. I like to keep the sweet things for after dinner.

that just like letting a child eat sweets before they eat dinner, they don't want to eat, Adults too for that matter.

Yes I have and dont you tell anyone.LOL I have only done it a couple of times and it was great. I think it would be a great diet because if you eat the sweets first then you wont eat as much of your dinner. Make sense?heheheheh

The things we learn!. Even after many years I am still not used to the American way of eating your salad before the meal. In Europe we have salad served after the main course as it helps digest the meal.

Sometimes all I eat is desert. I am a pie freak! Any kind of pie. So especially now that the boys are grown and out of the house I do indulge myself. Pie and salad works for me as well. LOL I am an incurable sweet tooth.

I have never heard of this. LOL I thought the sweet stuff always come last. LOL Guess that is one way to see the expensive stuff more by serving it first. Deserts are always so expensive at restaurants. We always have deseret last.

I remember watching some food programs where they went to a restaurant and they encourage you to have dessert first because the restaurant is actually known for their desserts!

If it is really something scrumptious, I will do that. On big holidays at grandma's, we would eat our big turkey/ham meal, with all the trimmings, then indulge in desserts the rest of the day. Hard to know a favorite, but lemon meringue is yummy, and has good memories attached.

You have that backwards. You are supposed to eat the main meal first, fill yourself up , so that you won't want the high calorie dessert. But, for a dessert lover, this is the way to go. Eat it first and worry about the rest later.

Ho ho... just hang on. Dessert or supper first? But isn't dessert supposed to be the supper? I would have my dessert after dinner (if I have them) or take them as supper itself. :P

I've often eaten dessert instead of dinner but rarely before dinner. Unless it is like two or three hours before and I consider that a snack.

I've had my dessert for dinner before. Not sure if I would just eat my dessert before dinner. I like the sweets after!

Also quite fattening, that's why I skipped the meal..hehe I did eat a salad with a 1/2 egg, some chicken and cheese in it though later in the evening..

Yes I have and I do it in a resturant too. They look at me kinda funny, but I don't care. I tend not to over eat when I do this too.
