thanks for the site i will check it out. about GG wnding this year, if Alexis doesn't renew her contract i heard that they would focus on luke and lorelia and the other characters

I would hate to see this show go as well.
Though I am not sure how much more they could do with the story lines unless Rory gets married and has a baby of her own or something.
This weeks episode was her talking of where she wanted to work after graduation and seemed she was looking to work far from Hartford so it would make sense if that does happen that this will be the end.
Would love to see one more season squeezed out of this show though

I don't think Rory would get married and/or have a baby anytime soon. It is my opinion that's why they married off Ling (Lane?) and had her immediately preggers. If Rory gets a job "far, far away", then I suspect the focus would shift to Zack, Ling & the babies and the show would continue in this way, with all the peripheral characters still doing their wacky thing but the major characters would only make an occasional guest appearance. And then whole thing will fall apart, we'll lose interest, and that will be the end of that!

I completely agree with you on the losing interest.
I dont think they could take the focus away from Laureli/Rory to someone else and still hold the attention of everyone involved. This show is based on the mother/daughter dyamic and that would be like taking ER for example and making it about the neonatal dept in the sense that yes it is good to have other character focuses from time to time BUT the show still needs to revolve around the main reason it was created...

It's funny you mention ER, since it's like the Grand Central Station of characters. I don't even know if anyone from the first season is still on that show. I know what you were trying to get at, I just found it funny. :)

I've also heard that this is the last season and I think it's going to be. In the last episode, Rory was looking into jobs in cities all over the country...San Francisco, Seattle etc...So I think she's going to end up moving to one of the cities and the show will end because she will no longer live near her mother. But you never know! I hope it doesn't end either.

ya that's when i started beleiving that it is the last season. cause if rory moves then that's it. the show won't work well with both of the women living far from each other.

I don't know, I have heard the rumor that it is the last season but I don't know for sure. I hope it isn't, I love the show. I own all the seasons! I watch it all the time.

I really hope that this is not the end. I love this show. If rory moves away then they could always concetrate more on some of the other characters like lane and zack, or maybe luke and lorelai will get married and have some kids together.

it seems that it would fit since rory's graduating from college...but it HAS to end with Luke and Loralei getting married. They can't end it before they get married. I will be very sad without GG, though!!!!

I have not heard this rumor. I hope it is a rumor because I would like to see Lor at least get back with Luke before they end this show. I would also like to see Rory get married too.

I'm not completely sure if it the last season of Gilmore Girls. I know they had planned a big finale that would tie up loose ends, but then they got positive news on the possibility of returning and they didn't plan to tie up so many stories. I read that the hold out is Alexis Bleidel, who plays Rory. She isn't sure if she wants to re-sign.

Apparantly everybody EXCEPT Alexis Bledel is signed on for an eighth season.
It will come down to whether or not she accepts. If she declines, then Lauren is going to opt out.
It's all on Alexis.

Omg.. I hope its not the last season! I'm still not recovered from losing Charmed!! We lost Charmed and Everwood and Related..all at the same time. .I would be soo sad if we lost GG too..what next? Smallville? say it isn't so! There will be changes if Rory gets a job far away, for sure..but if Lorelai and Luke stay..and maybe have a baby of their own..that would be good. Keeping my fingers crossed that its not true!
