James 3:16 says...."For where envying and strive is, there is confusion and every evil work." Have you ever Noticed that the easiest place to remain self-centered is at Home? There's an incentive to be lovely with other, but with your family you are temepted to allow yourself more selfish privileges, as if it doesn't count there. Before I became a Christian, I was more courteous and nicer to friends, than I was to my own family. I was demanding, and less forgiving to those dearest to me than to anyone else. But after making Jesus Christ Lord of my life, I realized all that had to change. My Husband and I began to learn through the Word of God, how important harmony is within our family. We learned that if we wanted the power of agreement (see Matthew 18:19) to work in our lives, we could not allow strife in our home. Strife stops the shield of faith, stops prayer results, and allows satan and his cohorts into our midst. Discord is deadly. It paralyzes the power of God in our lives. Don't allow the enemy to stop at our own front door, by allowing stife in your home. If you do, you will be not threat to him anywhere else. Put the power of harmony to work in your family today. Determine that today and put it action and see what great changes begin to happen all around you. I promise you it will be live changing, and a Spiritual Growth, that will move mountians. You can study Phillippians 2: 1-13... Let it open your heart.... I pray this helps someone and would love to know how it does! Because, I know first hand how the power of agreement changes things, and opens your heart. BE BLESSED

It is easier to be self-centered at home because it's almost like a sanctuary. It's your safe place. I made a change when I accepted Jesus too. I don't think of pleasing myself so much anymore (I still do, but I'm not perfect) I try to make those around me happy and not demand things for myself.
