Is anyone out there using this technique with any success? I have only just recently started to use it and have found it to work wonderfully on stress related issues. But I haven't really seen any improvement on blocking issues. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences with this form of therapy?

I've tried playing around with this after a friend introduced it to me. It's free and I can just learn from an ebook. But hmmm, I tried it but it doesn't seem to work for me. :(

I'm sorry that it hasn't worked for you. I have found it has only worked for me for stress reduction. Not really any real emotional blocking issues. Keep trying! I know I am!:)

I use it - a lot! The last time I used it was out of frustration that I had to do a chore I really hate! I felt that it wasted my time and I screamed, even though I tried very hard not to. I was so overwhelmed by that experience. But then, I thought of the girl whose laptop was shot by her dad (he filmed it on YouTube) because of her resentment towards her parents for having so much housework written on Facebook. I felt the same way, and my Subjective Units of Distress was a 10, about the same level as hers when she wrote the note. I first tapped on being overwhelmed, how I hate having to help the relative who asked me to do it, and how stressful life is because of her. I did a round on acting like the girl, using original language in her Facebook note. I don't usually use profanity, but because my SUD was a 10, I had to. My setup phrases are (edited for language): Even though I'm not her darn slave, even though she's not my maid, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. Even though I felt as if she could pay me for all the smarm I do, I fully honor and love myself. Even though I'm tired of this bullpoop, I deeply, fully, and completely love and accept myself. Then I used excerpts from her note as reminder phrases. I was loudly saying "It's flipping crazy," "If you want coffee, get off your butt and make it yourself," and so on. I did rounds on not only pondering what I'll do to deal with the housework I have to do, but also what the girl could've done to deal with her parents nagging her to do hers. They include Oxycise (a breathing exercise) and waking up early to do it without being asked to do it too much. I tapped on thinking of forgiving my relative. Finally, I tapped a round or two on choosing to do those things. That really relieved me of my resentment! This method is call the "Growing Up Method." You tap on the problem, tap while brainstorming ways to remedy it, and tap while choosing to solve it. It worked!

I have had some success with it. I think I might have noticed more if I didn't already seem to have a mechanism for dealing with emotional energy. I believe that it can be very helpful to some people. See my earlier question on the same topic: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/361331.aspx
