Does everyone feel happier on a sunny day?

March 10, 2007 2:57am CST
This morning the sun is shining brightly and I feel full of enthusiasm for the day ahead. I'm not sure whether it is because the sky is bright or whether it is because it is the weekend. What do others think, does the sunshine make you feel happy?

My daughter - This is my daughter enjoying a nice sunny day at the park.
I'm a much happier person in the sun. I actually get depressed when the sun goes for days without shining. Winter is awful. I so look forward to the Spring and Summer months. We have had several nice warm days here as of late and have been going to the park. Sunday they are calling for 85 degrees here, and I can't wait. :) I included a picture from a couple of days ago of one of our trips to the park.

Sure, i dunno but sunshine takes away a gloomy feeling. It makes the environment alive. For one, when i see a bright yellow sun rays in early morning, i feel happy. That means my laundry for the day will definitely dry since we don't have a drying machine at home. However, i also like rainy days once in a while.

Well, I would say yes - but in my case, it has to be with the proviso that it is not to hot. Bright, sunshiney, Spring like days lke today, where it is sunny, but not hot, are fine by me, but as soon as it gets about 23 C I start wilting, and suffering in the heat, so I am not a great fan of Summer, and I never sunbathe! However, I know I am in the minority here - LOL! I think bright, and lighter days do make us all feel better though.

I think that vitamin D in the Sun really gives us a kick in the right direction. Definately i believe that sunshine really boosts every one's morale..as Sun is expansive and warm and generous in its attributes.thus making us feel more open and content.

I like when the sun is out and the day looks bright. It makes me feel energetic and charged up.However,I don't like to go out when it's too hot and humid.I like to stay fresh. When it's too hot as our skin sweats and that eats into my motivation.I prefer a sunny day with the temperature around 20-28 degree C.

Yes, I feel happier on a sunny day. Today I woke up and I saw the sun, I started the day with the smile! It's really great, I hate rain because it makes me so sad! Nothing to do... And today it smells summer! Did you notice? At least when the spring is coming up I smell summer/spring! It's so amazing.

I wish we had that kind of weather here in Guelph now. I got back from Arizona a couple of weeks ago, and my Sweetheart and I sat outside in February! I sure wish I was back there now. I miss the weather in Arizona, and I miss my Sweetheart who is working down there.

I'm just the opposite - I love a dark, overcast day. When the rain is warm, it soothes and nurtures your soul. When the rain is cold, it keeps you alert, awake, alive. I love it when the daytime high is 55 degrees F, when the sky is full of clouds and the scent of an oncoming storm. Dusk, when the last light is leaving the skies. This is what makes me happy. Light, sunshine, heat and humidity make me hurt, make me tired and disgusted with the world.

Sunshine do have the tendency to lift ones spirit and give me the added zest to do a lot of things. However, I also love the rain and look forward to rainy days. It feels homey to me and we all get to stay home and cook and talk. I also love the after rain smell. It's so refreshing.

I can always see sunshine in Australia, I always have good mood when i see the sunlight, I have a lot of energy to do something when the sun shines on me, and I feel that my future will be bright. If it is a cloudy day, the opposite happens. Sunshine makes me feel happy...

Sunny day will be a good start for the day, at least the journey to work will be faster and quicker. There will be lesser traffic accidents on the road that delay the journey.

I know I do, so I'm sure many other people do too. When it's cloudy and dreary outside I've noticed my mood is a little heavier. When it's sunny out I feel happier. Even if it's 30 degrees and cold out, the sun makes it at least seem warmer!

It's a lot easier to be optimistic when it is a beautiful day and the sun is shining. When the sun is shining I am shining. Sunlight seems to bring out the best in me.

Oh yes, it make feel so much happier. I love to just open all my curtains and start cleaning my house like crazy and than go spend the day outside with my kids or go out and get together with my mom and do something fun with the kids.

I think the sun definitely impacts my mood, but not always positively. When I lived in Texas the sun would make me angry. It was just too hot for too long during the summer, and it started to affect me negatively. To me, a perfect day is light and breezy, with enough sunshine to energize and motivate you, but not enough to make you swelter and scowl! I also really enjoy the rain, though... I guess happiness is all about balance!

I definately feel happy and energized when the weather is nice and sunny. Even more so if it's warm enough to open the doors and windows and air things out. The only real downside is that I notice all the dust and dog hair in the sunlight, and the breeze blows it all around. I'll deal with that though!

It certainly does! Especially with the weather contradicting itself everyday here, I can see the differences quite clearly. I felt the energy pulsating in my veins today! Sunshine & clean air, what more could I want? :)
