Do you watch church services that are held on television?

Does anyone here watch the services that are held on tv, if they are shown on tv where you live? Do you prefer attending church instead? Does church services on tv have the same meaning and value as if you went in person? I do not feel that watching it on tv has the same meaning or feeling as if you went to church in person. It does not feel the same to me.

No,not anymore. My mom and I used to but we both stopped. It doesnt' have the same feel but the reason my mom stopped is because she got tired of them always asking for money.another reason is the same reason why she stopped going to church ,she got tired of the christian hypocrisy-always calling this one immoral or this group immoral when they weren't perfect themselves. I tried going to church recently and although I was impressed that I had finally find a pastor that didn't spend the whole church hour condemning others,I didn't feel any spirit there if that makes sense. It's hard to explain what I mean

I too do not like it when they ask for money, though I know the churches need the money to keep themselves running and be able to have events and donate money and other things. I have been going to church with my parents the last few weeks and it has been nice and very uplifting.

I love to go to church but I have not been able to lately. I really miss partaking of the sacrament. I pass out so much and am too weak. My pain meds make me weaker so I am forced to view the services on BYUTV. It is not as good as going to church but it is better than nothing. I am thankful that services are on TV for the people who cannot go to church for one reason or another.

That is nice that you do get something out of watching a service on tv. I am sure there are others out there that get a lot out of it too but I prefer being around people and celebrating in person. Today I went to church and it was more of a childrens day as they sang songs and did some acting based on the bible. Hope that you have a wonderful day as well.

yes I do watch a church service in TV. I always start my day watching it cause it makes my day start on the possitive way instead of watching early edition of news wherein 90% of it are bad news(right?) . It help me with my reading and gospels of the day. But still it is our responsibility to attend personally on our church service regularly. TV religious services are intended for the sick who0 can't go out and physically fit to attend. However since TV can reach globally and can broadcast to many people it is a good way or medium also to spead the word of God.

That is nice that you get something out of watching a service on tv. I have not yet watched a full service on tv but just watching a few minutes for me does not have the same feeling that I get from being at church. That is true though that seeing a church service on tv is more uplifting and positive than watching the news.

It's not the same being actually in church versus watching it on television, I personally feel I don't get the same feeling when I'm at church

Being in church has a more special meaning and is more uplifting than watching it on tv. If I was not healthy enough to attend church, I would certainly watch it on tv.

For me, I prefer to attend a church service instead. If i watch it on tv, it doesn't have the same meaning and atmosphere as in a church. A church service is about worship our God and fellowship with people. It is essential we show God our gratitude by coming to the church. I think this is the least that we can do for our God.

I agree that it is more personal being at church with all the other people and celebrating together in the presence of God.

I do watch some services on TV, but not local ones. I enjoy Jack Van Impe. I perfer the tv ones to attending services. Some Sundays I do attend, but for the past few years I have not enjoyed the services at church. I am either freezing or burning up, people are coughing throughout the whole service, babies crying, people shuffling, etc. I am very ADHD and these things disturb me to the point I can not pay attention. So I enjoy a quiet tv service at home without any interferences. I can stay focused and listen. I get a lot more out of the TV services.

I have osteoarthritis in both knees, and in the past few months, they've gotten progressively worse. I've walked with a cane for years and been unable to stand or to walk very far at all. I've been missing more church than usual, because it is too far to walk to get into the sanctuary. I miss it a great deal. I watch service on tv sometimes, but it is not the same. I usually get frustrated when watching it on tv...it is just not my familiar favorite service that I love!

I am sorry to hear about your health problems and that you have had to miss church quite a bit because of it. I have tried watching it on tv but it just does not feel right compared to going to church.

On Christmas Eve, otherwise I go in person. If I go at all, because I don't feel like it has the same value on the TV as in person.

I don't find them to be very riveting. Plus I am always waiting for the part when the ask for money. Always a big turn off for me. I do know a friend that watches Crystal Catherdral and she just loves it. I think watching church on tv is very impersonal. I am sure there are people who are shut ins that do appreciate it though.

I prefer going to church myself, which I just got back not too long ago from. It was a very nice service and it was a service that involved a children's choir which was so nice to see and hear them sing. You do not get that feeling from watching a service on tv.

Watching church services in TV or attending a church is the same....because our purpose here is to hear the words of god... If there is a difference, maybe that is during actual church services, the ceremonies are complete, while on TV, the show goes right away on the bible studies...

No I do not watch church services on television. Nor do I listen to them on the radio. A part of church is connecting with other people that have the same beliefs as you. You need to be able to share with and pray with others.

A few weeks agao the weather was real bad and I could not attend church so I watched the mass on TV. I agree with you for me it was dufferent. I feel better when I go to mass and attend Church. Watching the mass on TV was truly not the same meaning for me as attending mass at church.

you see, whether watch on tv or been there,GOD's words are the same,it can reach you from anywhere, but i must confess to you, aint no better way to serve God like been in HIs present. staying in the presence is the best place to be,though, the power of God can still flow from the tv station to you.

I am a Christan and here in the Phils one particular channel shows TV mass every sunday at 7am. I used to watch whenever I got time but now..lets say I'm drifting away. I believe it doesnt really matter where you are when the service took place. The Holy SPirit can come to you wherever you are. You attend mass to hear the good news not to see the church... god bless

I absolutely love to hear Joel Osteen preach. He is in Houston, TX, and I am in GA. So, the only time I can hear him preach is on TV :). so, yes, occasionally I do watch Church services on TV. I do prefer going to church, but it's a handy alternative, watching on TV. For those who can't get out, who are sick, etc. they can always just turn on their televisions.
