I'm using Windows Xp Professional for years..and when Vista launched I just installed it too but I didn't like it as much as Xp,it not means that I didn't like the appearance it all are good but when i installed Vista the performance of the whole system went slow, because it consumes a lot of memory than that of Xp.So,in my opinion by all means Xp is better than Vista. happy mylotting!!!!

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.

It is advisable not to upgrade it currently. This is because there are still a lot of application which is not supported by Vista. Some may be able to run on Vista platform, but may not be stable. I would recommend for the upgrade at least a year or 2 after it launch. At this time, there will a lot of fixes being made and service pack is available for upgrade. However, if your usage is mainly on internet surfing, chatting, and running light application like Ms office, it may be good to give a try as it should be very stable.

if you want cool graphics then you can upgrade to vista, but if you want the user friendliness, then its xp.

If you still haven't tried Vista stay on XP and wait for Windows 7. It will be out in no time.

Yes I think so. But I would suggest that you stick to your XP since Vista was just launched December last year. Probably there were bugs/ vulnerabilities on it not yet discovered; so try Vista maybe after a year so that you can be assured that many have tested it.

I prefer Windows XP because it is user friendly and upgradation to Vista is not that important especially when it is first started. However, it will depend on the life of my computer. If my computer's lifetime is up, which means Windows XP is no longer operating in good condition, I will change the hardware and install Vista into it.

I'm sticking with XP. Vista is too new at the moment and it has many bugs and it doesn't support many old harware. I would change to vista gradually.

i don't see any reason to upgrade into windows vista... it is just a waste of money... because it has almost the same function as the other windows..

I prefer to use windows xp professional. If u want to evaluate your vista than you can install it on a different partition rather than upgrading xp to vista.
