I just got Shyly spayed on Friday and was curious how long does it take for her to start acting normal? She's fine but not playful like usual.... Also how long does it take for her hair on her tummy to grow back bless her heart she looks so funny!!!!

Usually it takes a couple of weeks before they start acting like themselves or she might hide until she compfortable coming out. It's really an individual thing. I just had one of my females spayed and it took about a week before she wasn't walking around slowly. It also depends on the age of the cat. A young cat will heal faster than older one. She should get back to acting her old self in about a week. Remember I'm going on my experience with my cat. Yours could be different. She could heal real fast be up and acting like her old self in less than a week. The fur should grow back in about a month... month and a half. Hope this helps you.

It usually takes a couple of weeks for the hormones to settle down and her body to realise what has happened. She'll be fine in no time, as for the hair, that could take 6-8 weeks.

I feel your pain...my cat was spayed about a month ago and she now has a layer of short fur back on her belly. She is young and stubborn, so she was playful within a few hours. We had to try to keep her quiet, as she kept trying to jump up and fell down because of the pain medication/left over anesthesia. Within about 3 days we were chasing her around trying to get her to calm down so she didn't rip her stitches. If your baby will be calm for a few days, enjoy it....she'll bounce back once her tummy doesn't hurt.
