What resources do I need to learn how? Does anyone know any websites where I can read how? What tools and equipment will I need to be able to can? Any hints or tips anyone has for me?

I love to can and you see your things lined up on the shelf and know that it will be good and good for you. I wish you all the luck and you can email me with any questions. Once you do it there will never be a time when you don't know how again. Here is a link to get you started! Good luck! http://www.freshpreserving.com/pages/home/1.php

Canning can be very satisfying and fun. Get your friends to help. When I was canning I used both kerr and ball recipe books. They have different recipes but the basics are the same.here is a kerr canning site for the basics http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/5000/5338.html as well as the ball site http://www.freshpreserving.com/pages/home/1.php Good luck and have fun

I will certainly check out the OSU site, as well as checking into Ball and Kerr. I've seen people sell Ball and Kerr and Mason jars on ebay as well. Which is interesting!

No tips here. Although there's probably some sort of machine which will do it for you. I've seen some in past which can things so you keep them fresh etc, although this isn't something I do. Goodluck though cassidy! =) ~Joey
