What is your system for tackling Spring Cleaning?

Spring Cleaning - housework from top to bottom

Do you have a certain system? I'm only able to get into deep cleaning on the weekends. So I pick one room each week, start by sweeping the ceiling, and work my way down. I do my household touch ups during the week after work, and I don't start any other room until that one is finished. I can usually finish a room in 1 day. How about you? What is your system for doing the dreaded spring cleaning?

Oh my gosh you mean we have to clean in the spring???*L* Not one of my favorite things but I get these wild urges and start moving furniture and my family knows it means everything is going to get taken apart and cleaned. We moved in here this fall so everything was deep cleaned then. I guess it is time to get to it again.

LOL....yes, I admit my house has gone to h___ during the winter months. I've kept the basics going, but getting up the nerve to sweep the ceilings (which makes me hurt for days after!) and moving furniture, etc. is something I've been lax on and it's time to get things done! Thanks for the response.

Like all my neighbors, I hire a housekeeper.

Must be nice for you and your neighbors to be able to afford such a luxury. Thank you.

For myself I take a week to do it. I take each room and tackle it going from top to bottom. The only exception to that might be the curtains. I'll do all the curtains on one day. Everything else though goes by the room. I start with dusting everything, cleaning windows and blinds. I move furniture around to clean behind things. Do the ceiling fans. The last thing I do in there is the floor. I need to do my spring cleaning soon as well. I'm not looking forward to it at all.

I find that I'm actually enjoying it, even though my body pays the price for days afterward! I can only do 1 room a week with my work schedule, but it's getting there...slowly but surely. Thanks

I don't do "spring" cleaning. Since I retired I more time to spend on my home so I keep it clean by daily cleanign and one ever 2-3 weeks I do one room form top to bottom. That routine works better for me.

I wish I didn't have to do the 40 hour a week thing, I'd get more done, too. You're lucky. Thanks a lot!

The first thing I want to do with spring cleaning this year is scrub the walls and paint. I am in desparate need of newly painted walls. Then I will tackle the rest of the spring cleaning.

I did that in my spare bath...just couldn't take the color of it anymore and said I couldn't clean something that ugly!...lol..so I repainted . I'm still doing a little touch up, but it looks so much nicer! Thanks for responding

Housework - Hard at work on the housework
I try to set aside a long weekend, usually over the Easter holidays, to do the spring clean. I have, however, made a start on clearing some of the clutter already so that I can start at the top and work down the house from there.

It all depends if I am in the mood to spring clean. If I am expecting visitors then I go all out and do it in two days (probably the weekend). If its just a routine clean up then I do one room at a time.
