Does anyone else grow and or harvest plants for medicinal reasons? I collect raspberry leaves ( before the berry and bloom) for their uses as well as yarrow which grows wild. I grow alot of Herbs as well. Anyone else?

I envy you so much...I used to grow different kinds of herbs for medicinal use..I'm really into alternative medicine and have studying herbs for awhile, now. I know my body always responds to herbs so much better than regular medicine. I'd love to be in a situation where I could grow my own herbs..maybe someday I will be again. Now I just visit the local health food store and buy teas and supplements for myself.

Um..I collect plenty of things for medicinal purposes. The main thing being Ground Ivy, or as it's more often known: creeping charlie (creepy charlie). The weed from France! lol. It's great for headaches, as a tea if you have a cold -- the sore throat, stuffy nose. It's also good for the heart I think. Even though it tastes terrible, I love that plant lol.

oh absolutely! When I had my gardens back in Canada I had tons of chamomile, lavendar and the like just for holistic (and also magickal) purposes and plan on doing the same when we finally put gardens in this yr....I've never learned enough about using leaves or actual flowers for that matter...do you have any suggestions for books or websites that are reliable on the topic or for that matter do you have any tips yourself?

oh yes, i have some for cooking which is also for medicinal reasons. it helps to be preventive than to find a cure and it saves a lot of money, too.i like to go fresh and natural instead of finding it in some food already because it may not be enough.

Hi all, THat is how I got into my profession. I studied botany (medicine from plants) which lead me to growing different types of flowers. Now I have a landscaping company and sell seeds online.
