Why do you want to go into management? Especially if you are from a technical background what drives you to go into management? Cheers! Ram

The power and the money, but mainly the money. I worked in the internet tech field for several years and when given the opportunity to move from being a techie to being the boss, I totally jumped on board. The salary increase was wonderful, the workload wasn't so bad, the hours were great and the fringe benefits made it all worth it. I also have a very controlling personality and being in management allowed me to be more in control of the situations at work. I was able to train my people to do things the way I thought was best. I had a great team of people and once I had them all trained to my way of doing things our productivity levels shot up. But, honestly, I probably would have been happy right where I was if it hadn't been for the HUGE salary increase. I know money isn't everything, but sure helps you get everything.

Well said! The huge salary gap is definitely one of the major attractions for a management position. Cheers! Ram
