Does getting no responce in your discussion demotivate you?

When you do not get any response for your discussion, it starts demotivating you, making you think that yours topics are bad I have had times when the discussion i started didnt get any response, and it was not that the topic was bad. When someone consumes a lot of his time in writing a discussion, he expects a return from the Mylot community. Everyone should participate in good discussions, only in this way can this site be a true world class.

A lack of responses does not concern me unduly, I have been at Mylot long enough to understand that it does not give a true reflection on the quality of the discussion. Luck plays a great part in how successful a discussion is, because if someone sees the post and responds early then it will stay on the viewing page and be noticed by others. If your discussion is allowed to drift away from the early pages then it can easily be missed by a lot of members who would otherwise respond.

Thank you for your reply. Ya, i agree with you that luck is directly proportional to the responses you get cause once your post goes in the back pages, there is very less chance of getting a response.

:D I don't know... maybe its just me.. lol I'm in front of my computer, literally, 24/7. And that's LITERALLY mind you. I log in.. what can you see? (ok, what can I see, at least). This (These..?!) Who's who in the cricket world... who's who in God-knows-the-freakin'-what.. AND you know what?! I somehow "managed" (or did I ?!) to arrive at a probable conclusion (or is it ?!). :D 1. The higher the ratings (stars... color and all that...), the higher the probability of posting in "Recent Discussions".. ooooops! hands off please.. I'm "excersising" my freedom of "spits" here. Mind you. 2. I often wonder who "owns" or "manages" the site. Not that I'm against them or what.. it's kinda "questionable". Be at least "transparent". Just my 2 cents. Have a nice day!

nope. i don't get demotivated nor feel bad if people can't respond to my discussions. i understand that there are lots of discussions being started every hour of the day here. so, it's hard to find all interesting discussions and respond to. but i admit, it feels better if people get to notice my topics and spend time to comment on them.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, there are a lot of posts getting generated each and every time, so its hard to keep track of all of them.

No, it does not de motivate me. I think of it as a learning process that my discussion is not interesting or is not clear as others could not relate to it or the tags that I put was not the exact words that others uses when they search for discussions.

Thank you for your reply. I think that there are a lot of people who are in mylot to earn only money and thats the problem. They don't give importance to good posts.
