I have been homeschooling for the past 23 years. Although I have plenty of places to discuss homeshooling, I figured I would give this forum a try while I am in here. I know there are a lot of varying opinions regarding homeschooling. It has been a very positive experience for our family. I would love to discuss any aspect of homeschooling here in this discussion and would be happy to answer any questions anyone might have! I know there are homeschoolers lurking out there....where are you?? :-)

Wow! You'd be a great person for me to learn from. I'm just starting out. Have a 4 year old and a 5 year old. We're going to our first homeschooling conference in April to select our son's first grade curriculum. So far, I've been using books from Walmart, Sam's Club, and a couple Hooked on Math books (made by Hooked on Phonics). We also have the Bob Books and my son is already learning to read! My biggest struggle with homeschooling so far is sticking to a schedule! I also need to be more organized.

i homeschooled my older children for one year and this new baby it's popped into my mind again as the public schools are really bad. i loved the abekka series curriculum and don't even remember where i saw it. do you do correspondence when they get older or continue making your own curriculum? what's a good start with homeschool resources. i had bought a box set of 4 books i think (this is 15 years ago) and don't for the life of me even know what it was but it had a wonderful set of resources in it....just wanted to say hey and it's wonderful you do this for your family....23 years tho wow...how many kids do you have and what ages are they now.
