Abortion: Just wrong.

I believe abortion is just wrong and should be outlawed everywhere. Having the child and putting him or her up for adoption is the much more humane thing to do. Abortion is just too traumatic. Do you feel that abortion has a place in our society?

I completely disgaree with you. How is giving up the baby more humane and not traumatic? How is having an abortion inhumane and horribly traumatic? From what I've noticed, the only people who are traumatized by abortion are the ones who never really wanted one and talked forced or talked into doing it. Do you realize how much pregnancy effects a woman's body? Hormone changes, digestic problems, pains, stretch marks, muscle spasms and sores, stomach problems, joint pains. And not to mention all the common and rare complications of pregnancy and childbirth. These effects are hard enough to deal with whne you *want* the baby. Can you imagine how it would feel when you never wanted to be pregnant in the first place? How is that more humane than terminating a fetus that has no nervous sytem, no brain, no brain waves, no thoughts, no feelings and doesn't even know it exists? And for anyone who knows anything about fetal development, that's what a legal first trimester abortion actually is.

What doesn't matter? The condition of the woman? That's a disgusting thing to say.

Yes, I believe it has had a place in human society since the dawn of time and it is more humane than exposing a baby after the fact. In modern society, if it is done up until a certain point, I think it is up to the woman to decide.

Hello blueisking1...... This is always a touchy subject because everyone has their own opinion. In my view, this MUST be left for each woman to decide for herself. No man or government should have any say at all. Just my opinion. Tom

I used to think like you and personally I could never abort a child. However if all potential aborted babies were alive now there would be lots of adopted children with possibly horrible lives and the world would be really overcrowded.

Abortion has been in existence for millenia. Several cultures have used it for many reasons. Outlawing abortion would be a horribly counter-productive thing to do. So many pro-lifers seem to think that if a law is passed to ban abortion, everything will be fine and dandy, and abortion will never be used again. This is idealistic blindness at it's finest. People have, and will continue to get abortions even after it's outlawed. If the government doesn't allow it, then people will turn to back alley abortions or other unsafe methods of abortion. Furthermore, there are more children in this world wanting families than families wanting children. What of these children? Are pro-lifers so callous and uncaring about already born children that they'd overlook the welfare of the children already in the adoption system simply to save the "life" of an unborn fetus, who isn't even aware of it's own existence? "Well some people would rather have a baby so they can raise it through all it's stages," is a common excuse for such a belief. If this is so, then the people who fall under this explanation are not as caring as they think themselves to be. I think it's stupid to value a unborn embryo or fetus over an already living child. Abortion has a place in our society. It serves it's purpose as a method of population control, and as a method of keeping unwanted children from being born into a world that isn't ready for them.

adoption is easier said than done!! i dont believe abotion is wrong if its dont in the early stages of pregnancy although i do feel there should be a slight change in the law i dont agree with being able to terminate a fully formed fetus thats where they should draw the line .
