i have always planned to celebrate my 40th bday coz for me it's an important milestone of my life. however, the only concession to its being special is we heard early morning mass. after that, and for the whole day we were at the hospital to have my 9 yr old son take a series of tests. and we found out that he's inclined to have seizures. of what nature, we will know tomorrow when we'll have the CTscan done. for the past 2 days, my husband and i were in a kind of limbo coz we can not begin to understand what is happening. our son looks perfectly normal, very active, hyper, in fact and so into sports and into telling stories and making people laugh. we can not believe he's sick. i know this is fairly common but it's still painful to accept. now, he has to cut on some of his activities coz overdoing it could trigger a seizure. i still, really, can not understand all this.....

Oh my darling, this is so awful! How did you end up at the hospital, was your son ill? I think it will be trial and error which of his beloved activities he will have to give up, what a sham, poor little man! I hope the CT scan helps and things are not as bad as first feared, please let me know how he gets on. As always I am here for you if you need me! BIG HUGS to you all!

he woke up from his afternoon nap last saturday twitching and shaking and his legs couldn't support his body when he tried to get up. we were so alarmed coz we've never seen him like this so we rushed him to the hospital. we were told to consult a pedia-neurologist and after the tests, we found out that he had was a seizure. my heart just aches for him so much. thank you very much, rainbow. thank you for being there...

Oh bless him, tht's so awful, you must have been terrified, at least the hospital is looking into things straight away. I'm so sorry this happened to you all and hope that it's someting that may either just never happen again or that can be controlled. Please let me know how things are going. Love and hugs to you all!

I said a prayer for your sweet little boy.. modern medicine is very good, and hopefully this will be something easily controlled by medicine.. prayers for you too during this horrific and very scary time..

thank you, all, for your prayers. we had a ctscan done yesterday and thank God, nothing abnormal was seen. his seizures are just idiopathic and could go away as he grows older. thank you, once again for the prayers. i know it helped a lot.

Happy 40th birtday - a bit late. maybe you can have a great big party a little late? i hope your son will get better soon, and that they can help him so he wont have to stop all his activities. that is really hard on a 9yr old.

that's what worried me most - limiting the activities of an otherwise hyperactive son. now, we're okay already. we've been told he'll outgrow the seizures in time. maybe, i'll have a big celebration next year instead.
