Eating healthy

What do you think of it? Do you eat your meals in proportion. The health nutritionists say eat a big breakfast to get you set-up for the whole day. Do you constantly eat the same food for lunch? Say you live/work in the city; how often do you cook and prepare your own food and eat it at work? Why do you do this; is it because you are lazy or it's so close to you and it is cost effective? Do you have a fresh supply of fruit in your fruit bowl at home? All respnses appreciated.

I try, really really try to watch what I eat, but when you work at a company where people are bringing cinnamon rolls, candy, bread, sweets, it's really hard to maintain. I can last for awhile and I feel great, then I succumb to eating crappy food and fall off my health wagon, but I don't do it all the time. I try to have a cheat day at the end of the week, so I don't deprive myself fully. It is hard though and I think it's worth it, if it makes you feel good, but it is expensive to eat healthy too. I make dinner every night. If there is left overs I bring it for lunch to work. I eat oatmeal a lot for breakfast because I find it filling until my mid morning snack which is usually cut apples, string cheese or celery stick with fat reduced peanut butter, grapes, anything healthy Dinners are light for me, I usually make my family something different than what I eat. I try to prepare my lunches in advance, but sometimes it's hard to do and I make it fast in the morning before I leave for work.

I always prepare 3 meals a day because of my girls. But I usually eat at an irregular hours. Sometimes, I tend to grab a bite or two and I will hop in to to do other tasks. If I'm a little down, I forget about eating. :)

Somehow the idea of eating a big breakfast in the morning makes me put on weight like crazy. And now i started going to the gym in the morning so a small glass of fruit juice or milkshake is more that enough for me. I tend to eat heavy food in teh afternoons and light in the night. Thats what my bf says works best and man he has an awesome figure with 6 pack abs. Cannot argue with someone who looks like him.

A proper food and timely consumption would keep you away from the doctor for sure. The food we consume has a lot to keep our mental balance too. In many Asian countries they have the hospitals which will not administer medicines but completely control your problems with the food habits (not for all the problems). A proper food and timely consumption also increase your life time.

Actually, I am not eating that healthy. I normally just have brunch (breakfast plus lunch) and dinner. It's because of my irregular sleeping hours.

no i dont...i only ate when ever i am hungry...for me, u don't need to eat if u are not hungry. but eating a big breakfast to start your day is a really really good thing for people who works for a living especially when u don't even know if u can get lunch later on. but i have to make sure that i ate fresh supply fruits every night before going to bed. by doing this, really helps and i can last till morning

Good topic. People have such trouble eating healthy food because of their work schedules and family demands. It's good to pack a small cooler with lunch and snacks for the day, if you are going to be away from home. Even the healthy choices at restaurants and fast food are not as healthy as what you can fix at home.

My eating habit is not that good. I eat a lot of junk food, they are so tasty that I can't stop eating them. Also I don't eat good breakfast. Sometime I do skip breakfast because I don't feel like eating anything in the morning. I do cook our own food. Eating outside for us happens in weekend usually, in weekdays we rarely eat outside. I do try to eat some fruit regularly.

I have been trying to eat healthy since the beginning of the year. I mostly eat vegetables and fish. I finally gave up my addiction to soda and feel much better. Sometimes I try to add a little variety to my meal plan so that I don't get bored with what I'm eating. Always keep fruit on hand for those times when you crave junk food. It really helps.

healty food - good healthy food
I am a mother off two kids so I try to eat as healthy as possible. I cook almost every day, also the days that I work. I find it very important to eat well even iff it means we eat a little late in the evening. When you don´t eat well you can´t function write and I find it important for the health of my kids, my husband and I. I always have fresh vegetables in the house for the whole family. When you give your kids a good exemple the will follow that.

I usually don't eat breakfast, and maybe I ll skip lunch as well.. I tend to pig out at dinner..Yeah I know it's a very unhealthy way to eat.. Usually, I am not hungry in the morning, and by the time I have the opportunity to eat lunch, it's quite late in the afternoon.. So, I figure.. why ruin dinner as well?

From my observations a lot of peoples eating habits depends on their lifestyles. For example, if they work long hours they are often too tired to cook and its far easier to just grab burger or ready made. I always try to eat fairly healthy but its not always easy, espcially when i'm stressed or have little time. I work within health field so i see on a daily basis just how important it is to eat healthily. I would much prefer to cook home made meals everyday but this isn't always practical with my life at the moment.

Before I came to college, I ate four to six meals a day. I ate very little very often. Here at school, I don't really have a choice. I have to work around my meal plan, which allows me to eat twice a day, and the hours of the cafeteria. Even though I'm pretty sure that my previous way of eating is more recommended, I've actually lost weight, because my meals are much more diverse and I cover more food groups. I didn't do this before, since it cost more money (a meal at the cafeteria is approximately $5 compared to how expensive fruits and vegetables are at the grocery store) and because cooking isn't my forte. It also helps that I have free access to a huge gym!
