Has anyone had any experiences or feeling that that it is not so private?

My understanding of the pms is, that they can only be read by the people sending and responding to them, and also by the admin staff of myLot. This is the way it works on my website. However, I have assured the members on my website that I do not read any pms unless there is some extreme reason for doing so and besides I am too busy with the running of the site to be reading insignificant pms passed between the members. Just to be on the safe side, I would never put any controverial material in a pm. If I wanted to keep a message private, I would send my email address in a pm.

I have not had that problem. I state what I want to state, and I speculate what I want to specuslate. I figure admin has so much other stuff going on, they would not want to be bothered by the messages. I did run across one member who does say that he does not tag his private messages. Are you having any doubts about the privacy?

So you're more afraid of secrecy in myLot. The search option makes reveal all things in your PM also. So take care You've also reminded of email info from the PM category.

Hi whiteheather. I am sure it is not private. So, only share what you want. If you need to make sure it is private, try emailing directly to your friend, if they will exchange emails with you. I have rated you a ++ again to help keep those rates up for you.

It's really quite simple, MyLot gets many (probably very many) private messages, tagging them makes it much easier for MyLot to understand what category the PM is about, and file it away in a specific folder, and if there are other messages about the same subject later can refer back to the other ones, it can also make it easier for ourselves (the members) to locate messages we have sent out as well - I've just tried it and it brings out only the messages with that particular tag that I've either sent or received. I actually tried this with a PM from you, and only the message and my reply was shown, so it looks to me that the messages are private.

Our messages are private in the respect that other mylotters cannot see them. When we tag them it makes it easier to find them when we want to refer back to them. It's not private however in the respect that mylot can read your private messages if they so desire. The only way another member can see a pm is if the person it was sent to copies it to someone else.
