Ever have trouble uploading avatars?

I do on occasion, I'm wondering if it's only me who has this problem heh.
Mostly it seems I'm unable to try to change my avi earlier in the morning, a four or so hours before mylot updates.
It kinda sucks, 'cause that means if I try I have to stick with the lil stick figure person with the speech bubble in a green background (the default avi)..whom I've grown to dislike.
So do you guys ever have problems with your avi? And for the heck of it, do you guys have any avi hunting or creating stories you'd like to share?

Exactly a couple of days back,I tried uploading M shadow's pic as my avatar and mylot seemed to refuse it.I even tried deleting the current avatar and uploading it again.I had the same problem again.Then i searched for another avatar and tried uploading it, which actually succeeded without any hassle.

I am crap at uploading anything full stop lol. If it weren't for techno hubby ..there is no way I coyuld do anthing . I am trying to learn but avatars have always been a tricky one with me because i don't often have the right size to fit the ruddy thing lol.

Yep, another thing to be frustrated with on occasion here. I just have two or three pictures ready and play until it likes one. There also should be a time limit on the green blank avatar. We all should have pictures.
I do many things online and so in my wanderings I see things I think mean something to me so I snag them. I keep folders of pictures on my computer and some I even can use for screensavers or wall papers.
Hope the picture thing works better for you.

I love yours. The previous one was beautiful, this one is weirdly exciting. My green guy gives me the feeling of having lots of relatives. Actually I have yet to find something I want to use. thought of a picture of me, but don't have any I can use. Looking for something that feels right. I don't have a clue about how to do it, but i'm hoping its in the mylot info somewhere.

Heh..the lil green guy does seem like he'd have lots of people to talk to. Maybe it's the way he's standing or the smile lol.
Well, you can surf blogs -- alot of people post pics from time to time, others have blogs JUST for pictures, I get most of mine from xanga blog rings..(http://search.xanga.com/searchgroups.aspx?q=) by typing in 'dark icons'.
It can be somewhat time consuming looking for pics, but if it's done in spare time for fun -- which I've always found it strangely enjoyable to surf icon sites -- and after you do it enough, you should be able to find something you want easily ^_^
Anyway, good luck finding a pic you like.

Never had a problem myself. Perhaps your avatar is too big or the format is wrong. I think even a 100k jpeg works well enough.

I know sometimes pics are too big, so I try to pick smaller pics on purpose lol.
Though on the occasion I have problems uploading avi's, it doesn't seem to matter it rejects all of them and I have to wait til later in the day to try again -- then it usually works lol.
It's good not everybody has this problem though, I'd rather be part of a minority in this case.
