How I got my first rat...

Her name is lucky, and at this time my old friend had a snake, and as sad as it is she use to feed him, live rats. She went to the petstore and picked one out. The rat sat in the snakes cage, for almost 2 days, and the snake just would not eat it..so she called me up, and I said I wanted her!! Her name now..is lucky, because shes a lucky girl, and boy lot me tell you...I am so lucky she wasnt snake food because she is the sweetest girl ever. She gives me kisses all the time, and she just has so much love! 3 1/2 years and still going stong!! How did you guys get your first rat? Any storys?

I hate snakes! One of my current boys came to us one evening. Literally. We had left our door open for fresh air, and suddenly he was standing inside our living room sniffing on the bike. To this day, Reynolds (Big Papa) is the best of rats. He was joined by two younger companions after a couple months who help keep the old guy active. The first two rats I had were purchased from a pet store, because my boyfriend had rats prior and really like them. I fell in love with the rascals right away, and now I can't imagine not having rats!
