Who was the best band of the 80's?

Who was the best band of the 80's? If I had to pick I guess it would have been Styx, although there were many more I would rate right behind them.

Maybe it's my age, but I've never really considered Styx an "80s" band. I mean, yeah, their biggest album was Paradise Theatre in 1981, but then again they only released 2 albums that whole decade (and I'll never forgive them for "Kilroy Was Here"). ;~D But to answer your question, to me Berlin was the best that the 80s had to offer.

You are right. Their best stuff was in the 70's. I liked Pieces of Eight the best.

They were good at their style( Bass, Guitar, Drums, Front Man). I am a little partial to the bands that made use of keys,.Styx, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Yes etc.

For me, when it comes to the 80s, it had to either be the Eagles, or Journey. I still enjoy listening to these even today.

I would say Bon Jovi. They are the most succesful during the 80s also Metallica.
