Now with over 80,000 users on mylot, how do you choose discussions to answer? do you stick to your friends lists, the top discussions, or do you take the wild card and answer those without responses?

interesting question...i usually start with my friends, but there i'm sorry but i only answer those that i have an interest in. after i go through those, i normally go through either new questions or those without responses. For some reason, i very seldom ever answer the top discussions unless i find one that interests me, but it is usually the last category i look at.

I do a little bit of everything. First I go thruogh my friends discussions, then go to discussions with no responses. Then either recent or new discussions. I only go to hot topics or todays top discussions if I can't find any other discussions to respond to.

I basically read the postings of my friends...then once or twice a day, I'll go into the main listing and find five or ten which have no responses. I also will go into my interest area, and pick a site or two I haven't visited in a day or two and check out those discussions. I'm not making much money, but I'm having a lot of fun and learning quite abit.

When I come here each day I usually take a look at the discussions that my friends started section. From there I try to answer as many discussions as I can. After I usually go on a "tour" trough all the sections and will answer any questions that interest me in some way. Every once in a while I tend to go to the section that has the discussions without answers and try to answer a few there too. In between I respond to comments on my own discussions and the ones that were left on any response I gave . I tend to diversify as much as I can, but as a rule I always start and finish with my friends section.

I usually start off with my friends discussions first then if I see someone who posted a good comment I will check out their profile and if I see a discussion of theirs that I can relate to I respond to theirs. I go all over the place. LOL! I like to check ou the new discussions and occasionally the ones with no responses to see if any of my friends are there. And that's about it. I'm all over the place!

Priority goes to friend's discussions which I received through email notifications. I then review my own discussions and may look for discussions to respond from those who respond to my discussions who are not in my friends' list. If there is still time for more responses, I will scout around from the above listed in your topics.

I look at all of the above. Mostly, I look to see if it's a topic I have an answer for. I check back on my discussions that I've started to see if I need to add comments. Then, I check back on my responses, then I check my friends list, and finally, I go through my interests. Once in a while, I pick a hot discussion from the front page.

I browse through all discussions that are possible for me to answer. Then I choose one that catches my eye (usually one that I have not responded to before i.e it isnt another discussion started by another person but the same as about 20 other people) I have to really want to reply to a discussion (which is probably why I havent made that many posts.) If I see a discussion that I want to reply to I have to read it first too... I cant just write a reply to a discussion because sometimes the discussion isnt always as obvious as it looks in the title.

Although sometimes it takes me a while to respond, I save the email until I do. I go through the emails first. Then I look at recent discussions. A lot of times I look at discussions with no responses. Then I look at interests.

I'm here every day, so I usually just stick with the recent posts in each area. I start with the top discussions, then the new, recent and hot topics. A quick trip through the no response ones, and then on to my friends. After that, I start going through my interests. If I have time when that's done, I go back through the beginning topics to see if there's anything new that I want to read. I pretty much only read and respond to topics that sound interesting to me. If I'm not interested in the subject, I'm not going to have a quality response. Even with my friend's discussions, I follow the same criteria.

Hi, As you know I'm finding having time for mylot is quite difficult at the moment with the amount I have on (luckily the living room is now finished!) so I've decided I'm just going to answer friends discussions from now on until I can find time to do some more! Blessed be!

As my friend list grows every day, I find myself answering to my friends discussions the most. then I look at "today's top discussions" , "hot topics" and "new discussions" these are the only places that I go to to search for good discussions to respond to but many times i find good discussions at the "related discussions" at the bottom of the page of the discussion I'm responding to.

By the time I have gone through discussions my friends have started and then the ones I've started and a quick glance at new or hot topics- I've devoted hours to the site, and have to let go for another day. I have alot of interesting and prolific friends here. Yay

I have my email notification set to ON so that I will know when friends start discussions. What I do is that I will go through discussions from my friends first. If I have time, then I look through maybe discussions with no responses. ;-)

I respond to those who are my friends first that I feel I have a response for. I don't respond to just anything. If I don't feel I have an actual opinion I say nothing. That simple. I could spend hours on here daily and type down everything I think but I'd get nothing done. So I must be choosy.
