If they are old friends they tend to talk about old things, like the old days at school, teenage memories. Nostalgia is fine now and then, but if repeated constantly it really gets tedious. One can always appreciate a new breath in a relationship. I try to secretly change the topic on such occasions and try to catch the moment.

We talk. Talk a lot. Talk too much, in fact. Then we look for food, we get hungry because of too much talking about the good and funny past, about the present, then about our expectations in the future. The talk seems endless, yet the meeting will have to end. There are other things to do, more important and pressing things, there's family above them all, first hand.

We arrange cinema nights out together! We all meet up in London which is convenient for everyone, go for a meal before, then go on to see a movie, we don't always agree on the movie but we come up with a compromise, it's a great night out, which happens once every two months. Other old friends I see for a drink occasionally when convenient, to work around busy schedules and commitments etc..
