I have lived in Texas my whole life and I just moved to maryland. There were many things I loved about Texas, but the best thing was the rodeo. It was so much fun, and it had great food.

The cowboys...not the football team, but the real ones, lol. No, just joking. I have been through Texas many times and have always enjoyed the friendliness of Texans, especially in the little towns. It is nice to feel so welcome someplace you have never been to.

There are a lot of great things about Texas..... the blue bonnets of definitely one of them. But far and away, the best thing about Texas is the people! Genuine, friendly, curtious, loyal, honorable, the list goes on.

That's a hard one for me, there are soooo many things that are great in Texas! The southern charm, the scenery (I've lived from the coast to the hill country). I moved to PA 2 yrs ago, and people still comment about my southern accent and phrases..... hi y'all, fixin too....; I still get teased bout the way I say things lol. But, I'll always be Pure Texan!

I have two nieces who settled in Texas and I have had the opportunity to visit them several times already. I love Texas. I love the Blue Bonnets in the Spring and the Indian Paintbrushes in the Summer. I love the wide open spaces, the farms with the Longhorns, the regular cattle, the miniature horses, the antique shops, the churches, .the malls, the outlets. I like Moody Gardens in Galveston; 6th street in Austin; Riverwalk in San Antonio; the Zoo in Dallas; Space Center in Houston; Concert Hall in Round Top; The Library in La Grange, Prairie Dogs in Lubbock, Palo Duro, etc. among so many other interesting places. Of course the friendly neighbors with their "Howdy ya'll" and the handsome cowboys help complete the good picture of Texas that I have.

Well, the above poster (not the one who is deranged) is right, actual cowboys are one of the best things about Texas. I always thought if I didn't live where I do now, I'd like to live in Texas - I've sure been there enough! Also, I love Texas drawls. Some accents you can't identify the exact location the person comes from, but a good 'ol Tezas drawn is a familiar and pleasant thing to hear.

I think that the best scenery in the state is in our backyard, especially when you and the baby are out there running in the sun. Just the beautiful perfect frame right there, i'd pay til the end of the earth for that picture.

I am a native Texan, always lived in Texas but have been to a few other states that I loved and had such beautiful scenery. I live on the Gulf Coast and am so tired of all the humidity, sand and salt water. I would love to move to a small town. My youngest daughter lives in a small town in Texas and the people are so friendly there. My husband and I have 5 grandchildren and the grandson that lives in the small town calls my husband papaw and the others call him grandpa. Guess it is a small country town thing?! hahaha I love the parts of Texas that have the 4 seasons. The changing color of the leaves in the fall are beautiful. In south Texas we have 2 seasons, hot and warm. Run the air conditioner almost year round and I hate that.

I don't miss the humidity, but I do miss the beach! lol But I have to admit the mountains up here are beautiful, and really colorful in the fall. And I've now seen more snow than I ever have before!! lol
