How many of you actually even remember to give a '+' to anyone for a good discussion.... and even a '-' for a bad discussion.... leave '+' apart for the time, do you actually award anyone with a '-'..? I feel it disgraceful and bad if u give a '-' to anyone....seriosuly!!!
Back to '+', I feel that people barely care about giving a good feedback to anyone.... Well I myself try my best to give a '+' to each and every sphere I visit, till now I havent given out a single '-' to anyone since the LONG time I have been here on this site....but I guess awarding a '+' should be highly encouraged..... and every one should award a '+' to everyone....I feel so because it is okay if at times you are not agreed to what is being said but then too one should respect for other's emotions....for other's feelings.....
What do you say and feel about these ratings?

Hi, I always leave a '+' to every discussion I respond to that I feel is a good discussion! I've left a couple of '-' for those who have left spamming responses to my discussions as this is not in the spirit of mylot. You should really rate + or - on discussions as this raises star ratings and thus earnings. People don't know whether you have rated them a plus or a minus anyway so you won't be hurting feelings and I feel spammers deserve a minus, but these are the only minuses I give out. If someone leaves a response I don't agree with then it usually gets a plus for effort!

in all my discussions, i give (+) positive ratings to all that is relevant and/or useful to my topic. i don't rate if the response is not related to the topic and i rarely give a (-) negative rating.
i respect the differences of opinions. the only times (very few) i gave a negative rating is when the discussion is started by a very rude remark about people in mylot... coz i feel that the remark or insult includes me coz i'm also a mylotter.
other than that, positive ratings should be encouraged as well as awarding best responses too if applicable. :)

I rate every discussion I respond to and every one that responds to my discussions. I also, if time is allowed rate others that have responded to other peoples discussions. I too feel postive feedback is very important in the success of myLot and in any business. I almost always rate +. The few instances I don't are for those that break myLot rules by abuse or plagerizing, short one or two word answers, answers that don't have to do with the topic, or those that are just posting nonsense. I never ever would give someone a - based on the fact that I disagree with his/her point of view or opionon. I have seen others do this, and it is very wrong. The ratings are important, and I will continue to use them in a fair way.

I give pluses to those whose answers are reasonable even though I do not agree with them. As for the minus, if you are not supposed to give them, why are they there? Ah they are for the parrots.

hye i dont understand about the + and the - sign here in mylot.., and even the A but then wad i know is the best response that i usually mark because if i feel some is helping me, or good writing or something innovative which atleast brings some glitter to my face i mark them good response....here we are respecting others emotions for sure but then the best mark is for something special ,,,the thing which is more touchy is always get best response, and then giving evryone the best ...there will be no meaning for the best......so be coool and have fun ...cheers

I rate everyone that posts to discussions that I begin. 99% of the time I give everyone a +. I appreciate the fact that someone took the time to read my discussion and took the time out to respond to it. That's important to me. I also try to visit the discussions of someone who has posted on several of my discussions.

I rate every discussion as well and very rarely negative, for if someone has a different view than mine that is their perogative. If someone is offensive or abusive, then it is a fair chance that a negative rating has been earnt!

I rate all my responses in My discussions and They will get a + rating and I've only given a - to spammers. Rating people's Discussions I have only rated a few and They have always been a + rating, I have even rated other people's responces in Other's Discussion with a + when I find there answer very deserving of a positive rating...
Rating Positively helps raise your star rating. It's nice to see when you have a good rating it makes you feel Good :)

I give out positive ratings to those discussions I respond to and which I find useful. I also give positive ratings to those who respond to my discussions if they have a good point even if they sometimes contradict with my own opinion.
I don't ever give out a negative rating though, because I put myself on the other persons shoes. If I was the one given a negative rating I'd feel bad so I follow the golden rule: Do unto others what you want others to do unto you or in this case Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you. ;)

I prefer to give positive ratings and have easily given thousands of these in the time I've been on mylot but I will give a negative if someone replies with something that doesn't answer the original question or if someone just replies 'yes' or 'no'.
If I see a response that has been copied and pasted, I report it to mylot.

Hello friend, i dont think that i have given even a single -ve star to anyone. But i think people dont think about rating someone's discussion as +ve or even as -ve. But i am really surprised that why my discussions have been rating -vely! When i dont give -ve to anyone then why people do this with me. I just reached my 100th discussion and i was sad when i saw that i have only 5 star with green colour! I am really sad

I always rate people with positives as long as they are good and helpful answers.
The negatives I would give out if the response was totally irrelavent to the topic, and offered no information or opinion what so ever, or if the person was very rude to the original poster.
Know what I mean?

I rate all people thatreplies to my discussions with a + and i also comment on all the comments and hand out a best response after a while. I also try to remember to rate all the discussions I reply to with +. This way I help others and I also hope that they do the same for me, even if not - It helps me to remember wich discussions I have already replied to =)

I give + ratings to everyone who responds to me as long as it answers the question- Even if you disagree with me-- I give + ratings to other people when reading their discussions when I'm responding to the same discussions. Sometimes I forget to rate the person starting the discussion though- Just an oversight- I think that rating people is very important. It helps the person with the star rating- Not that the star rating matters to me- some people won't answer anyone with a low rating- I'll answer anyone if their discussion interests me.
So I try to rate everyone I come across.

I actually think that myLotters in general are very good at rating discussions.
Myself I always rate discussions I am responding to, responses to my own discussions etc.
I never rated with a "-" that I remember. It the posting is bad enough in terms of violating rules or inappropriate words or comments, probably the "!" should be used.
I find that some people misuse the "-". It is not to be used if people don't agree with the discussion or comments, and much less to punish someone they don't like.
In my opinion myLot could do perfectly well with just the "+" and the "!".

I can honestly say, that I have no idea what those ratings are supposed to do..
It is another of the many gray areas with Mylot, where we do not know how or even if, the plus-minus fit into the payment scheme.
At first I was doing it all the time, but then figured it was just a waste of energy and stopped.
I will start again when someone can tell me what difference if makes ---if any.

what u said that is right.. but do this only before 3 days..before that i don't even know that to do... but after i knowing it i usually do that i gave only "+" till now...
