I seem to be having a hard time getting started here. Does anyone have any advice? I had a discussion that seemed to be getting losts of response, but it didn't increase my earnings much. So you not get paid for responses? Or is it only for starting a discussion? I'd appreciate any help you could give me.

Ok, depending on what you wish to make. I shoot for 50 responses a day and so get about a dollar or more. Make the responses 3 or more lines long and on the topic, well thought out. Quality is key. Your discussions don't give much earnings though you should respond to some of your responders and rate them all. Especially when according to guidelines they have responded. All participation is evaluated so do the best you can in all things and you will slowly improve. I also suggest you keep a notebook with your daily details. Number of posts, the amount earned, any picture money earned and any referral money earned. They do tinker and so keeping track will enable you to judge what you need to do for better earnings. Good luck!

This is awesome advice! I have uploaded some pictures, but not many yet. I wasn't sure how well the response would be for them. The notebook is a great idea. Thanks Willowlady!

First of all do not get depressed my friend the money will come and trust me not because i say so but 85000 members belive so and secondly you can go on adding discussions and topics as many as you like and the more numbers you have the better lets put it this way you post 100 discussions and you get one response per discussion so it means a hundred responses to you and then you take part in a few discussions so that is the amount of responses also added to your earnings so the churning point is it is a numbers game or in simple words there is no substitute to hard work the more you work the more u get paid simple there are no shortcuts to hardwork and also remember nothing comes for free in this world everything has to be earned and if you keep these simple things in mind and work in a planned manner i am sure your earnings will increase many folds all the best

This is so true. While I was reading this, I remembered the "No pain...No gain" slogan that my high school softball coach used to use! Thanks for responding.

When people respond to your discussions, add comments to the responses. The idea is to try to get a conversation going (often the person who responded will pop back to see what you replied and may continue the conversation). After about a week or so, close the discussion by maeking the best response. Rate the other good responses with a '+'. I think Mylot pay more for serious discussions than frivolous ones. But their earnings algorithm is secret and they change it frequently.

Well this was an eye opener. I didn't realize that marking the best response closed the discussion!!! I missed that one when I was reading through this!!! Thanks Snowflake. You may just get best comment for this one!

Well the mylot earnings are a mystery and their is no rhyme or reason from one day to the next. I didn't think that we were paid for responses before but the other day I did an experiment. I only responded to 1 discussion all day. I received some responses to previous discussions and rated those and replied where needed. I started no new discussions that day and earned more than I had expected. So to answer your question yes I think that we do get paid for responses although I don't think that we get paid for every single one. Maybe it has something to do with the quality of the responses for you to get paid for them also. I don't know the answer to this but did you rate the responses that you received? You don't say how many responses you did that day nor what you actually earned. It really does very for everyone. It's not that I think that we are all paid differently, just that it depends on who's discussions you respond to and whether they rate them or not. I think that it makes a big difference in the earnings. Also do you resolve your discussions or do you have many waiting to be resolved? This is possible to have an affect also from what others have stated. Many members also believe that receiving best responses adds to the higher earnings for a day. I always suggest that if something doesn't seem right then you should contact mylot and ask them about it. I have found them to be very responsive. They will look into the situation. Hope this helps in some way. :) Welcome to mylot!

hi! in my 3 weeks here in mylot i learned that we earn by doing the following: 1) starting discussions which has response/s, at least 1 cent. no response, no earnings. you earn more if it's at least 10 responses or longer. 2) responding to discussions by other mylot users by providing quality responses. we earn at least 1 cent for each quality post (response or sub comment in others' discussions). it must be relevant and useful and more than 1 line (so avoid one liners). 3) uploading images in our discussions, we earn 1 cent for every image. 4) making referrals, we earn 25% of what they earn from participating in mylot. we don't earn from subcomments we make on our own discussion. we also don't earn on sub comments we make under our own responses to others' discussions. the most i earn in one day is 90 cents for 16 posts, just by doing quality posts. goodluck! :)

Well, I am certainly learning something! Thanks for this. I didn't know that at least 10 responses earned more money. Thanks!
