My poor husband lol

My husband has alot to deal with in being married to me. See, a few years ago, I had surgery to remove a tumor growing inside my last remaining ovary. I was plunged into surgically induced menopause and boy howdy, it can drive someone crazy. 7:00 pm, I say, turn the heat off it is so hot! 7:05 pm I say, turn the heat on I am cold. And so it goes. At bedtime, it is covers on, kick them off, covers on, kick them off and the ceiling fan is always on high regardless of what season it is. I usually take meds and they work great, but I allowed myself to run out of them and now have to wait for 4 weeks just to have my appointment at Family Practice, the military way for non-emergencies lol So, here I am again, hot, cold, hot, cold My husband says there is one advantage to my hotflashes, if it is cold outside, everyone can gather around me to keep warm lol I usually send out a warning as I am being hit with a hotflash...I yell, hide the guns, lock your doors, apologize for anytime you ever said that dress made me look fat...I have a hotflash on the way! LOL So, basically, I handle menopause and hotflashed with humor, but they are no fun at all!

My sister had a hysterectomy in her mid twenties so I definitely understand where you are coming from when she runs out of her medications she is heck on wheels for a better way of wording it. I bet your husband will keep up with your rx better than you the next time. lol I know I am on a rx for bipolar and my family reminds me to take my rx. lol

Yes, he has been reminding me daily lol My niece is on meds for Bipolar, but luckily, because she feels so much better and able to cope, she never forgets.

Wow, best of luck to you! I had a hysterectomy almost 20 years ago when I was 28, I have never taken hormones and thank goodness I don't have to yet. No hot flashes or anything. Best of luck to you!

I was one of unusual (lucky) ones. I had my tubes tied in my early 40s and was one of the few who had the side effect of it it bringing on early menopause. I had a couple of hot flashes, but did not know it was hot flashes, so after missing 3 months of my period I went to the doctor and he told me it was early menopause. That was it over and done with, never had any problem or any of the problems associated with menopause. Wasn't that lucky for me, my husband and family !!! LOL

Oh you are lucky! I am one of the rare ones that get hotflashes morning, noon and night. But I keep my head on straight, realizing this is one of those things that happens naturally, so it is nobody's fault. Therefore, I don't take it out on people.

But it does seem like he cares quite a lot in you. It sounds like you've got a good hubby so don't forget to treasure you. It is good that you can "laugh it off" too. It is always a good way to deal with something not that ideal - laugh it off and make some fun out of it. ;-)

I am truly happy for you that you have such a loving, patient and humorous husband. Many men would just go crazy on their wives or even ignore them after a while. I hope you are coping well and never forget to take your medication! :)

Hi there. It's really nice to know that your husband loves you very much to put up with you like that! lol this is proof that it's not just about the ups in the relationships but as well as the downs and hardships couples face. It's really nice that he sticks with you through all these.

Oh loves, you sure how to handle those dreaded menopause with grace. My auntie can't handle hers with humor like you. She usually get irritated easily, cranky, grumpy, any names we can think of. Its a good thing you have a husband who clearly understand what you're going through. I heard from a friend that taking "Black Cohosh" can greatly diminish the hot flashes and anything that's related with menopause. It is a good supplement for such cases. Try asking your doctor about it for more info. :)

No, I can't imagine that it is any fun at all. But humor is the best answer. Good going!

I am glad to see that someone has a sense of humor in a time that makes us feel quite unpleasant. Bare with me hear I know this may not sound that believable but after I had a miscarige last year I began having hot and cold flushes, migranes, nausea and dizzy spells all the time! I went to the doctor thinking I was pregnant again and after she did tests on me she came to a conclusion that I was going through a MINI MENOPAUSE! I am 19! I did not believe her for one bit! But after talking to other suffers my age and older I found out that it is quite common! I now take menoease and have a nasal spray for nausea where ever I go! Thanks for the cute post, I know it is hard, but its good to see the humor side of things! :)

I thought i had my first hot flash a few months ago. Than I learned of the peanut butter recall and I think it was the samanella now. I do have lots of female problems and we are trying to figure it out. My Dr assured me I am not in menopause and i am happy for that! I am glad you are being good about it. And also glad that your hubby is so supportive of you!

I hear that can be something. I am ready to have mine done and over with. I do at times have hot and cold flashes. I can go to bed freezing cold and then be really hot later on. Not looking forward to it all of the time but ready in another way. Our husbands to have a lot to deal with at times but I believe at times so do we.

You're lucky to have a patient, understanding husband. I would be the same if my wife had the same problem.

It sounds like you could be my ovarian twin!LOL! I have had to have a partial hysterectomy(ovaries taken and tubes taken) because of my stage 4 endometriosis. I had a tumor the size of a grapefruit in my right ovary that needed to be taken out before I had the final surgery so I really really feel for you sweetie. They put me on this AWFUL medication(Lupron) that threw me into menopause too. It was the most horrible thing ever. The permanent side effects for me are migraines, bone loss, and hot flashes...yuck! We are two lucky ladies with great men in our lives. It's good to know that we have them supporting us through the good and bad times. Lots of love to ya! ~Kim
