Do you believe that Easter Sunday and Easter egg hunting are of Christian origin and tradition? Why?

I'm not sure where exactly Easter Sunday came from but the whole Egg thing as well as the bunny rabbit are most defintately Pagan in origin (fertility)

easter sunday, yes. although it's date is decided by the Spring Equinox. Easter Eggs, although they are fairly recent, I think are more in the Spirit of the Pagan celebrations of the Equinox. I've already had my chocolate eggs.

Have a look at this site http://www.religioustolerance.org/easter1.htm The name Easter is derived from the name for the goddes Eostre. The christian easter sunday could never have taken place on a sunday since Jesus rose on the sabbath which is saturday. The sunday was chosen by the church to distinguish themselves from the pagans.

Mark 16:9 took place when Jesus Christ was already resurrected near sunset of the weekly sabbath...

I've just read from a website before that christianity was pattern to pagan tradition and maybe easter egg hunting was part of it I guess! Sorry bosing I am not very expert with these issues. As for me and my family we go to church on sunday where the highest form of mass was celebrated and listen wholeheatedly with the mass. Easter egg hunting is very well celebrated in the convent wherein I was a volunteer and there are lots of street children who was so excited to find for the easter egg lol!
