Are designer names important to you?

Do you have to own/wear things with a designer brand on it? I was in a store recently and the girl in front of me was gushing about her designer necklace from tiffany. It seems that the latest style of tiffany is a dog tag. Does this really matter in the grand scheme of life? Does it really matter if your wallet says 'guess' on it or if your underwear is tommy hilfigar? I have a nephew who equivically says YES... For me, I could care less....what do you think?

Not at all important! It is simply materialistic! I hate that. I have had enough money to buy these 'name brands' and I wont do it! Nike is the worst then Hillfiger! I just wont do it!

thankfully i grew up in a relatively middle class area... not many people had the name brand stuff in school so it wasn't like you were flogged for wearing wal-mart. i did however wear some tommy and nautica but that was because they were gifts; i didn't pick that stuff out specifically. i really tried to watch the money. i still do. i take more pride in making what i have look good than spending tons of money. with jewelry, i do believe the more expensive you go the better quality should be there, and i do like quality when it comes to jewelry. but i could care less about the name on things.

Designer names mean something to me on China and other collectibles but definitely not on clothing. I find designer names that are visible on clothing obnoxious and I don't need a label on the inside to tell me that the article is a quality piece. I can tell by the fabric, workmanship etc.

I dont go for designer or branded names on clothes or items. But I do buy some branded appliances. My kids like to have branded jeans, shirts, shoes. I guess it is the trend of teenagers or the youth today to go for designer or branded names. I sometimes buy it for them but not all the time.

I think that its important to teens these days that they have the most expensive and best designer clothing. I remember when I was in high school my favorite jeans designer was tommy hilfiger or Mudd. They cost so much that I only had about three pair of each, and my family wouldn't buy me more because they cost so much. I don't believe that its important anymore, i'd just rather go to walmart and pay like 10 bucks vs. 50 somewhere else.

It really doesn't matter to me wearing designer brand clothing or jewelry. I couldn't afford to have designer brand things and I really don't care to wear them.

I think these folsks are truly shallow people i personaly would much rather know i have helped someone less fortunate than myself than to have a lable on my clothes or a diamond necklace (i dont wear jewelry anyway)

No not at all, I don't see a point buying something really expensive when I can get exactly the same one somewhere else with cheaper price and exactly the same quality...

I don't really care if its a branded product; I just care if it's good quality. I wear specs and I must admit they are Gucci frames - I didn't pick them because they were Gucci and you wouldn't actually know they were Gucci unless you looked real close - I bought them because they were the pair that suited my face better than any other and I knew they would last a while. I do like quality underwear too - but for example, the pair I am wearing today cos roughly £1.50 or just under $3 and they are as comfortable as all the designer underwear I have. Quality doesn't have to mean designer so overall no designer names are not that important to me

No it's not that important. As long as I'm comfortable with what I wear. I would wear that clothes, whether if it's a designer brand or not.

I'm not very much into branded things. We have to be practical nowadays. Those are just material things and would all deteriorate in time. My sister is different from my point of view because she adores all branded clothes and accessories. Lucky her because she could afford buying it because she has a high paying job. It's not really a big deal for me because we have choices in life and this is a free world.

I don't buy the name brands of clothing. Most of my clothes and what I get for my kids comes from Wal-Mart or K-Mart. I don't see paying high prices just for a name to be on clothes when you can use the money you would spend on maybe one pair of jeans and get two items at Wal-Mart. I'm like you, as long as I can get clothing at a good price the name on the tag means nothing.

I personally give a lots of importance to brand name behind a product. In my opinion, there are symbols of quality of a product and more importantly they add status to your looks. I would really like to wear a Nike T-shirt than any other T-shirt in the market just because i like it. I would say i am very much brand specific.

sometimes it's so important....it speaks about quality and uncommon style
