unfit parents

one of my former friends has two children right now her first boy would be 2 1/2 years old and he second boy would be about a yesr and a half and the mother is 21. when her sons were a year and newbborn until the time they were a year 1/2 and 6 months they lives in the apartment downstairs from me. both boys had medical problems. she used to go out on the back step to have a cigarette and leave both boys alone in her apartment crying. sometimes she would leave them alone for hours not changing or feeding them. multiple people called childrens aid multiple times (including me) childrens aid says that she is a fit mother . now about 5 months ago her and her boyfriend (the father of the children) jumped, stabbed,and robbed a man while he was walking home from the corner store they plead guilty to the charges the father is in jail and the mother on probation and yet children's aid still says that she is a fit mother and will not take those poor children. what do you think of the system and do you think that she should have her children?? please be honest

Those poor children. The system is completly (BEEEEEPPP)ed up these days. They don't stand a chance in the home. I would take it further. Call the police when she does that. Keep calling them on her. I know there isn't much you can do, but keep try for the sake of those babies. I sure hope someone wises up soon.

they used to leave dirty diapers on the floor and the whole hallway they lived on smelled it was that bad. me and my boyfriend have tryed so hard to help those 2 boys but when we did her and her boyfriend jumped my boyfriend he is the person that they robbed and stabbed it got so bad with them harrasing us that we had to move and the police would not do anything about what they had been doing after the robbery

I get mad reading things like this. Those poor kids, I wish I was there. I have 3 gifts myself and I could never imagine doing half the things that I have read here today. What is wrong with this system? Are they so blind? I wish I could do more to help those poor children. I agree with amarine - just carry on trying or maybe try another rroute, there MUST be something someone can do to help those children before it is too late..

Well the system isn't really good either but she should not have her children. I feel for those children they need to be well taken care of , if I could I would take those children in and give them the best life ever.

Wow they both are sick and she doesn't care being a young parent is hard I know but I take good care of my daughter. Im 22 and my daughter is 9 months i've become responsible and everything is about my daugther's best interest. I wish something would wake her up to take care of these beautiful boys the Lord blessed her with or else she would have sense enough to give them up for adoption to a couple who would take excellent care of them. You are a blessing for taking care of those children when she left them, well if it ever came down to them being taken out of her home it would be nice if you could take them. Im praying about the situation this is sad. God bless

i wish i could what is even worse is that both boys have health problems and they were both born prematurely. after she had her first child the doctors told her if she had another child it would be worse than the first but she didn't care she got pregnant when her son was a few months old. if i could have i would have taken in those children i always took care of them when she would leave them for hours at a time. it is truely a sin:(

i have 2 children my daughter is almost three years old and my son is almost three months old and i am 19 and i still manage to get everything done sometimes it is hard but i would never do anything like she is the worst part is she thinks that she is a good mother.

What a messy and problems family..if all your descriptions was true then I do agree that not even the mother but I will said the "parent" were really unfit for their dutes as a parent. One in jail one on probations!Really pitty for the kids!

If the system says that is a fit mother I really think they need to step back and take another look at these people's lives!! How can they say that she is a fit mother? I would try to get a second opinion from a different social service center and see what they say about it. Maybe call the one in the next city closest to you and ask them about the whole thing

It is a Sad shame that even in the day and age we live in October 25th, 2006, there are still people that can be Abusive and neglect their children, and still have Full custody of them. I have heard of so many kids dying due to this also.
It is a Shame when there are many women and families out there in this World who cannot have a Child due to Health reasons, etc. who would Love to have the opportunity to be a Parent, while they continue to let a person do whatever they want to their own children. What ever happened to wanting to Break the Cycle and Stopping Abuse?

no they are not full. and she won't let anyone take them she really believes that she is a good mother it is really scary if you ask me

This is awfull that woman should not have those babies.i raised 4 children on my own in my 20's for 12 years and i did everything possible to make sure my children were well fed,bathed,clean clothes and had a warm happy homelife.I even washed my kids clothes in the bathtub when i had no washer and hung them outside to dry.There is no sense in mistreating and abusing your children or any child that is so selfish.I hope the welfare wakes up and does whats right before those babies are killed.

well i have a question i have a 12 year old son and he lives with his dad, his dad is a a$^&U)hole and treat him like s&^&%
well my son has a mouth of a truck driver and has autism and my ex has not been in my daughter life and she 9 year old and all of a sudden after easter he want to get to know her but didnt try to do anything to talk to her the whole time there. i feel he is unfit parent and i dont want him having any contact with her due to the fact of my son mouth. my daughter went in to be away from her brother because of his mouth and now he threaten me to take me to court over visitation. he keep getting supensed from school for fighting and stuff. would the court award him vistation or find him unfit.
