Howmany dogs are too many for one family? Should there be just one? The proud protector of the family. Should he have a buddy, or two? I have three dogs. Have I become the crazy dog lady from down the street?

Growing up my family always had a min of 2 dogs but have never had more than 3, We lived in a large house and had Large garden and lived in country side perfect environment for more than one dog. Now I live in a city and only own one dog(smaller house/garden).

Zzzzzzz - dog
No you havent ------ yet! LOL! I believe the amount of dogs you should own is dictated by your lifestyle, living space available and your budget. Having a few dogs in a studio apartment and the only time they can go outside is when they have to relieve themselves is cruel. Skinny dogs are from worms, poor or hardly any feedings. A large dog in a cramped or cluttered dwelling will certainly be knocking over things. Someone with a busy social calendar or job should reconsider whether its right or not to have a dog/s. These examples hopefully should onvince you whether you must restrain or restrict your need for dogs. However, if you have the time, space and the budget to give them a loving home and not cause anxiety or jealousy among them, then its up to you how many to have (and your local city/town ordinances).

I have 3. all fairly big dogs. Greyhound, Deerhound and a Lurcher. the only trouble is, I have 2 hands. they all push each other out of the way for cuddles. but I wouldn't be without any of them.

I have three dogs. Two german shepards and a brittany spaniel. I love my dogs and would be lost without them. I think that as long as you have enough room and can care for the animal that you should have as many as you want. For me three is enough.
