Jasper update...

Well it has been nearly a week since the entire ordeal started. Jasper is doing great. He is healing well. He is just about back to his old self. He finally started purring a few days ago and has really relaxed. He is still a little skittish around people and cowards when we try to pet him. I think given some time he will be the old Jasper we love. He started playing again this morning. I got my usual wake up call. Jasper attacks my feet every morning. I use to hate it, but after almost a week without it I really missed it.

I am so glad to hear that he is healing well and almost back to his old lovable self! Since he is used to being around loving, caring people, it has most likely helped him to heal both physically and mentally. I'm so happy for you! I know his is special just by how you have described him!

Oh, I am so thankful to read this discussion. I have been ill for the last few days but you and Jasper have never left my thoughts and prayers. I am so very happy to hear that the little guy is purring and attacking your toes and starting to do things that he used to do. What a horrible ordeal the two of you have been through.
I hope the person/people get caught before they have the chance to do this to some other poor creature. It makes me sick to think what would have happened if Jasper had not had a home to go to..or if he had not been able to make it that far.
Big hugs to you and Jasper. You both need them.

Thank you so much for the response award. Once again, though, I am just so thankful that Jasper is emerging ok from this nightmare.

Oh that is great news I bet you are happy about that, well you cannot blame Jasper for feeling this way about people dur to what happened to your poor cat, yes I believe it is only time and then Jasper should be ok. So only time and Jasper should be back to himself.
