What I mean is I can't stand those people starting discussion and NEVER commenting back ... I can understand that if I personnally don't get a comment ... but I hate it when there is NO comment at all, on any answer!! It makes me feel like that person only start discussions to get the money and couldn't care less about the answers!! What do you think ? I always try to follow the discussions I started ... I try to leave a comment as often as I can ... especially when the answer is useful or is asking a question I also try to go back on the response I gave to other discussions to see if the person who started the discussion addded a comment ... I love the back and forth exchange!! Tat is why I love Mylot so much ... I wish thay would create somthing to help us follow the feedback better and more easily!! What about you ? What are your habits about discussions ? Thanks in advance for your feedback

I agree with you. When I start discussions I always like to at least leave a few comments to acknowledge peoples responses. I understand when you have a lot of responses to your discussions you don't really have time to comment on EVERY response. But I do like to see at least somewhat of a conversation going on. I mean after all isn't that why they are called discussions? I do wish that mylot had some kind of notification system to tell you when your responses have recieved comments. I'm always going back to look at old conversations to see what kind of feedback if any has been given.

I always try to leave a comment for everyone that responded to my discussion, even if it's just a thank you for responding. And, I always rate everyone positive for responding, even if I don't agree with them, as long as they are actually responding and not just spamming (I did have one person just cut part of what I wrote in the original discussion and paste it as their response. I didn't rate them negative, but I also didn't rate them positive, or bother responding to them). However, I do fall behind on responding sometimes (especially if there's something going on at home that needs more of my attention), so it may be a day or two before I'm able to give them that thank you. When I do start a discussion, it's because I want a dialogue to get going. So, I always follow up (even if I can only read one answer at a time, and I have to wait a while before finding the time to respond just yet). I don't understand people who start a discussion that sounds like something they would be interested in discussing, and then just never come on back.

It does not bother me too much if a person does not comment back on my reply as I know that they may have a billion replies to respond to and just do not have time to reply or at least right away. Many people here are just trying to make money, whether they really need it or not. It would be nice if there was an easier way to keep track of replies instead of scrolling through a lot of pages. I try to respond to as many as I can but it is not possible or it may take me weeks or even a month to do so.

I am not talking only about MY personnal answer but generally, like they start a discussion and they comment on NO answer at all ... you even wonder if they bothered reading it ... that is what gets on my nerves .... that's alll I know we cannot answer each and every comment, and I can understand that...

Oh that is really strange as I always try to comment on my discussions and appreciate my friends responding to me, I always respond to at least one of my responses as this is what we are supposed to do to work on mylot correctly and to get paid. I go back to all of my responses and check that I have done everything before it is deleted from my discussion list.

I get annoyed when I see that no one has gotten comments, after a few days. I understand if you have to be offline for some reason (vacation, emergency, work) but if I keep going back and no comments from the original poster show up, I get a little annoyed. However, I don't mind if I don't get a personal comment, as long as some people do. I realize it can take hours to go through and comment to everyone, and even the mylot guidelines say not to make everyone a "thanks for responding" post if you don't really have anything to say. In my own discussions, I reply to as many as I can, but if I really don't have anything to say, I won't. I hope people don't mind that I don't comment on every single response, but sometimes it just doesn't seem possible to me.

No, indeed it is IMPOSSIBLE to answer every single response ! I am only talking about those who don't comment AT ALL, to noone ,, or maybe only once, because mylot only pays for the first comment!! I don't comment each and every responses either, and I don't get offended if I, personnally didn't get a comment as long as some others did...

I have been guilty about that at times, but it's more of a lack of time than anything else. I do try and respond when I have the time, and I always rate comments even if I don't have the time to always post a comment back. I do go back and read all the comments, just don't always have the time to answer them.

Yeah, I agree with you, It bothers me when I see tons f people answering a discussion and months later there is still no reply anywhere. It gets on my nerves. I try my best to go backand repy to my discussons or even other discussions that may have replied to my comment, but of course no one is perfect, and there have been times it's took me a while to answer back as well, so I guess I need to understand better too.

I have to agree with you on that note.I dont like it either when i respond to a discussion and then when i go back to look for a comment, that person has left no one a comment. To me thats rude. When someone responds back to my discussion i have always made a comment back to them, even if its a simple thankyou, because they took the time out to respond.

I am one of those are quilty of not commenting on discussions I am working on changing that, not sure why I never responded to all of them but I do try to comment on at least one or two of the replys but I never seem to get to all of them.

I didn't mean to ALL of them ... sometimes there are too many answers! What I meant is at least a feww comments to some well-thought answers ... for some kind of interaction... But if you are working on it then that is already a good improvement Keep going!

I always go back and look at certain responses I made to see if the person who started the discussion has responded back to me. Especially if I really put alot of thought into it. I ask few questions, but when I do I go back and read the answers-- I try to comment if I can- I rate all of the responses. The people who don't I feel the same as you- They post for the money only--- I choose not to answer alot of those people. I like the dialect also.

I am the same as you. I don't expect a personal answer to every single response that I give, but I do like to look back and see the discussion starter responded to some of their responses. :) I, like you, respond to every single discussion that I start. I may not respond to each and every response, but I do show that I aware of the responses and I appreciate them.

I follow up my discussions as much as I can and as my time permits. It is odd for somebody to start a discussion, forget completely about it and then start a new one. I do not expect the starters of hot discussions to provide a timely response to every single comment posted in their discussions as this would be a full-time job for them, though it is nice at least to reply to those who wrote a lengthy and thoughtful comment.

yes, I like to know that the person who started the discussion read my answer even if he didn't comment it, and for instance commented the response after mine ... At least I know he read it but it was probabbly too similar to the others or didn't require further comment

Hi guys, i do feel the same way. I take a long time just to go back and forth to see comments for my replies as well as for my discussions. On top of that, many do not rate responses, some do not even resolve their discussions and they start 10 to 20 topics a day! How do they do it and get money from it? I just cannot believe that is the way some people are. They miss the whole idea of a FORUM. What can we do honestly? They only want the numbers. And now, i couldn't care less with people who have huge numbers beside their nicks. Because i think what i'm doing is just fine by me. Cheers! - Lyn

I agree with you. I always go back and reply to my responses when I start a discussion. I feel it's only fair that we acknowledge that people took the time to respond to our discussions. I know mylot have rules against just saying things like thanks and hugs and stuff, but most time I find I can say something else first and then add a Thanks for responding at the bottom. That way I'm saying thanks and acknowledging their time, but I'm also adding to their thoughts too.

I thought the whole point of myLot was to have the back and forth comments. That's why they're called discussions! Which I know that YOU understand, but it seems others either don't understand that or just don't care. I don't comment on every answer I get in my discussions, but I do comment on some responses. It just depends on whether or not I have something to say. I agree with you, though. It's nice to see when whoever started the discussion has something to say about my response. I hate the generic "thanks for responding", though. And I also try to go back to the discussions I responded to to see if the poster commented on my response. Or sometimes, I might get someone else responding to my comment. I think that's what makes it more fun and interesting.

I understand your sentiment, ricknkae. I did notice a lot of discussions without any comments at all. I tried to comment back to all my responders. There are some responses though that are similar so I usually left it blank. But you can check on my previous threads and you can see me commenting back almost 90% of the responses. Its my way of showing my appreciation for them. :)

There are times when I am guilty of doing this :( I dont mean to at all though, sometimes I am quite busy and dont check up on all my discussions. There are a few occasions when I have not gotten a good response to comment back, but I always do try to leave a comment. I know it is so hard to comment every response in a discussion there are just too many of them, but when a answer is long, heartfelt or noteworthy I will always leave a comment. I am going to all my discussions now to read them over and leave comments on good answers, there are some best responses to some of my discussions I must reward :) thank you for this discussion I rated it a + it was great to show others who leave no comments at all, that feedback on discussions are so much better!!

Absolutely I agree, this is supposed to be a discussion forum and a discussion takes two people. I am not yet into talking to myself, give me a couple of years yet, but it would be to weird to be typing to myself....:o...Wish they would penalize people that don't give feedback, they don't have to answer everyone but a little bit of feedback would be a lot more supportive.

I love your answer! Very funny ... When I notice a pattern of someone NEVER answering to ANY of their discussions I usually rate them all negatively ( the discussions ) because that person is using us just for the money to me!
