I feel pretty bad right now. It is cold here in Texas. VERY unusual for this time of yeaer, but in the upper 30s and it actually snowed some. Well, the Fire Department was putting on it's annual Easter egg hunt so I bundled the kids up and took them out there. My 3 yr old daughter woke up today with a horrible cold and her eye was matted shut, but I gave her some medicine and thought it would be ok since we weren't going to be out there too long. Well, she refused to hunt eggs. My 5 yr old son got a lot, but my daugther wouldn't hunt...just kept saying she didn't feel good. So, afterward, we went to MacDonald's and got breakfast and her face, her eye, everything looked horrible. I just turned around and went to the doctor. Got there and my poor baby has an ear infection and pink eye!!! And, here I had her out in 36 degree weather with snow!!! Poor thing...I hope she feels better soon.

Isn't this weather something? Two days ago I was hanging out in jeans and a tee shirt, and now I've broken out the thermal underwear. Texas weather is crazy. Oh well, que sera. Your little girl is on the mend now, right? She's got medicine for her ear infection and pink eye. She'll be fine. Just let it go. Sometimes kids are serious, and sometimes they aren't, and it's hard to tell. But the problem is being fixed as we speak, so it isn't worth your time and energy any more. Just make her some nice soup for lunch or dinner and I doubt she'll even remember this in a few days, lol! I hope everyone in your house stays clear-eyed! Happy texas easter.

I know, the kids were in shorts and everything. IN fact, I had put all their winter stuff away. I had to dig everything back out. It's crazy! I don't ever remember having this cold of weather on Easter.

You're not a bad mommy, you were doing something for their benefit, not yours. Kids get colds all the time, it's sometimes hard for us to tell when they are a regular cold or something more serious. The fact that you took her to the doctor after it didn't get any better makes you a good mommy, quit beating yourself up over it. I hope she feels better soon too!

I am sure that she will feel better soon and you really had no way of knowing that she felt so bad. There are times when we want to go to events, especially events for our children, so badly that we dont' think that the little issues will be a big problem. Hopefully your son will share some o fhis Easter Eggs with his sister and she will be feeling better soon. You are not a BAD mommy!

Our Easter isn't looking too good either. My two oldest children live 4 and 8 hours away from me. My two youngest are still at home, but both have to work tomorrow and they can't get a definitive answer out of their boss whether or not they can get off early for an Easter dinner or not. I am having my parents over and I guess my parents, my hubby and I will eat and I'll make plates for the kids who probably won't get home until 10 PM ....just like they did tonight. They went in at 11 AM this morning and just got home at 10 PM. They are servers at Bob Evans.

Hey were parents not doctors. I know I have had simular occurences. Give yourself a break. Ya got her to the doctor and she now has the meds that she needs. Just a suggestion but keep a bottle of hand sanitizer arround for the three year old cause that pink eye spreads pretty easy.

Your not a bad mom. You got her to the doctor and you didn't realize she was that terrible. You were just trying to make sure she didn't miss out on this wonderful holiday. I'm sure you'll take good care of her and she will be better soon.

Awwwwww, I really hope she feels better soon, too. But, don't blame yourself Chaygyl. You weren't to know the severity of it and you were only trying to cheer her up. I hope your son gave her some of the eggs he found. :-) At least you took her to the doctor and she will soon recover now. It's a shame she missed the Easter Egg Hunt, but you can perhaps make up for that later? Brightest Blessings my friend... you're not a bad Mommy, or you wouldn't have taken care of her afterwards. ;-)

Well, try not to feel so bad. I thought that you were going to say that it made her sick because you took her. But obviously she was already sick. You had no way of knowing and I'm sure being out there for that period of time didn't make it any worse. I hope she gets to feeling better soon. The pink eye should go away pretty quickly just make sure EVERYONE washes their hands A LOT!!! Take care and Happy Easter! ~Stephanie

Please don't beat yourself up over this! You were actually being a great Mom. Rather than being one of those who rush their child to the doc with every little sniffle and put them of harsh medicines, you were going to let a simple cold run its course. (which is what we advise!) How were you to know that it was something more? You were taking she and her brother to an Easter egg hunt, where you no doubt would be cold and miserable, but you were willing to endure because you knew how much they would likley enjoy it! I'm sorry she is sick on Easter weekend. She'll probably be so much better by tomorrow! Kids bounce back very quickly!

How can be any mom bad to their child afterall they are god for their child. They got the ability to born the child, this is a natural gift from god.If mom be so rude to their child then every child shoul respect and love to mom .Mom have a right to do anything with their child.According to me there is no any bad mom in this world.Mom is so proud and rich world an we have respect for them.

It's not your fault. You are just doing everything you could for their own good. Do not think that you are a bad mother. If you are, you wouldn't care about your children. Be strong and pray. God will never leave you.
