Is your fridge overloaded?

I was at a friend's house and was given permission to rake the fridge for iced water. Imagine my surprise when I found nothing in the fridge except medicine, packs and boxes of medicine. She does not cook and stays alone. She reminds me of my late grandma. My grandma has a small fridge but does not switch on the power. She uses her fridge as a cupboard. She doesn't go marketing and she doesn't allow anyone to take ice or cold water. In my own home, 50% of the capacity is filled up with fresh fruits, 30% is occupied by dried goods, tidbits and spreads plus containers of leftover food, 10% for iced drinks. The remaining 10% is for the week's supply from marketing, mostly packed in the freezer. So in a way, my fridge is at times overloaded, since icy cold water is a must no matter how packed the fridge is. I used to think we need to have 2 fridges. We did have 2 fridges at one stage. What about you? Do you overload your fridge? Do you use more than one fridge? Other then the normal produce from the market (vegetables, fish, meat, eggs), what else is there is the fridge? Medicines? Cosmetics? Ice-cream? Chocolates? Beers? Soft drinks? Are there any "must-have" stuffs?

I have 2 big fridges for my family and it is not really enough. We seldom go out and hunt (too lazy) so we like to stock up on enough blood when we go hunting once in a full moon. We don't have medicine in our fridge. Diseases are something not too familiar to us. We can consume diseased blood and still come on fine. We are quite jealous of humans though. You get your variety from vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, whatever. We rely on the same blood. Yea, granted.. different blood tastes different. Ahh.. time for my next meal. ^^

It lacks that human taste..

So that's where all the blood is. No wonder the Red Cross is always lacking in blood. For variety, try tomato sauce, just as nice :P

Most of the times we keep some frozen foods in our fridge, like those instant nuggets, hotdogs, eggs and so on.. I always prefer to buy fresh foods to be eaten either for lunch or dinner, I'm glad that we live close to a mal, a slaughtering house and a wet market. There we could easily choose the fresh and not those frozen fresh coming from cold storages. We can buy fresh vegetables on flea markets, and fish on wet markets. We also store some energy drinks, beverages, and other stuffs that we need for our day to day living.

That would mean the need to do marketing daily :P I do live near a wet market. I find the daily trip a hazzle.

We try to do these things everyday, because we do not want to take simple things for granted. I always think of this in a more positive, helpful way..

Much of what you mentioned can be seen inside my refrigerator. Except for ice cream and chocolates. But cosmetics??? You must be using refrigerated cosmetics then :P I might add milk and a whole lot of carrots for my bunny.

Um, our fridge is always fairly full but not completely packed. Our vegetable department is always packed, and there is always juice, butter, eggs, cheese, spreads, that sort of thing. I think theres eyedrops in the fridge, mum keeps them in there. I'll keep anything in the fridge that I'm scared ants will get!

We don't have very much in our fridge. We go grocery shopping each week and only buy what we'll need for the week - a little meat, veggies, eggs and milk. There is alot of other food in our kitchen, but its dry goods like flour, sugar, etc., or stuff that doesn't get refrigerated like oil or syrup. We mostly drink water.

That's a pretty neat question! AHHHH...I would say that my fridge is medium overloaded.....most of the stuff are vegetables which my mom and dad eat....not me..lol On the other hand their are frozen food stuff which I prefer eating Their is also one refrigerator in garage which is loaded with drinks from PEPSDI, COKE, JUICES........so that the main refirejator is not overloaded thus making it difficult to find stuff. Bye Take Care Good Luck from SIKH_BOY

actually i know you wont believe it but i dont have any fridge at home..its just logical to have none since i dont have any budget for the electricity on it and besides our house is just near the wet market or even in stores where they sell cooked foods

I believe you. Why get a fridge when you don't need one. Besides, you are helping to conserve electricity :P

I was reminded of a comedy movie where the house owner opened the fridge and an eskimo walked out.The house owner ran out thinking of him as a ghost:-P I have just one fridge. My must-haves are water,ice-tea,juices,yogurts and ice-creams.The rest keeps changing.Yes,my deep-freezer is almost always stuffed, but the rest of it can still accommodate a polar bear the size of a rabbit, lol.

Yes,but we will have to equip it with a pair of lungs instead of gills first :-P

Our fridge is full of leftover foods. I feel like it's a big waste of money if I'll just throw away all those. I just make sure to have it recooked properly or recycled using different recipes. I also keep all my kids' vitamins and medicines inside. I have a refrigerator that accumulates a lot of ice inside the freezer that it would take one whole day to defrost all the ice inside. So I have it cleaned once a week to prevent too much ice inside.

Ohh..My fridge is overloaded. Infact we are planning to buy a bigger one, a 320 ltr Fridgr, currently we have a 180 ltr Fridge. i Guess apart from the normal stuff like vegetables, some cooked food, milk, bottles of water and cold drinks, We have chocolates, and icecreams too in our fridge. Chocolates are for young kinds who visit my house oftenly and inc creams are for me! cant give tht one for sure :P We dont keep medicines in our fridge as the food can get its smell...so we normally avoid! I feel medinies are to be kept in cool places not nessearily a fridge!

My fridge is overloaded! When I buy something, it takes a lot of time just for me to rearrange the fridge in order to make it fit. I seem to keep old things that I know I will never use. If I could clean the leftovers out for once, I could probably have a nice and tidy fridge.

we have two fridge but we only use one now. when my other sibling still lives at home, the two fridge was always full of foods and drinks. but since i'm the only who still lives at home, i only use one and i use the other as a cupboard. anyway, my fridge is half full with microwavable foods (i dont cook) and a lot of fruits and drinks. i always eat out so i dont keep too much food in the fridge.

So my grandma is not exceptional to use the fridge as a cupboard. I guess it is only logical if one does not need it. LOL.

I donĀ“t know if it is overloaded but it sure is full. It has alot of food in it. I hate it when it gets too empty and i usually go out shopping then =) I think that a fridge should be more or less full - thats what its there for =)

i have a fridge/freezer, it is ofen full, and there is only me and my son, i like to offer my son a variety of things to eat and drink... i go to my brothers house however, and the fridge is always bare, you would be lucky most days to find some milk in it!

My fridge goes from being packed to bare in no time at all. The downside to having kids who eat me out of house and home lol. Aside from all the usual things though, I also keep my Lush Products in the fridge too. Not the Bath bombs, but I have soap in there, I have my moisturizer in there, I have bubble bars in there, even the bath melts go in there lol. I tend to not use the compartment for my eggs in the fridge and so I use those 2 shelves for my Lush products. They fit nicely and it keeps them fresh. The bottom shelf of my fridge is reserved for drinks and juice. The middle shelf is for Bread, margarine, spreads and deli meat, and the top shelf is for all the other bits and pieces, tubs of food that needs to be eaten and so on. There's a drawer at the bottom for Vegetables and Salad packs. I like seeing a packed fridge. It's nice knowing I can feed my family healthy meals.

my freezer is usually more overloaded than the bottom part. i try to keep the leftover containers and old food products to a minimum.i do keep a lot of fruit in there for my mother though. (the trouble is getting her to actually eat it though).
