let them stay up as long as they can and then wake them up early. find an activity during the day that will wear them out, that might help. or....find the older one a movie or activity to do and try to get the younger one to sleep first. sitting and talking to the older one might make her bored and sleepy. I used to give my kids baths and vitamins at night but found out that both tend to keep them awake. avoid giving them sugar and caffeine (chocolate, soda pop, candy....) good luck!

If you need someone to talk to I am here. I know what you are going through. I have a 14 month old daughter and a 3 month old son. Neither of them want to sleep through the night. They were both doing good for awhile but then neither of them want to sleep all nite or they dont want to go down until two or later in the morning. To make it worse my husband works third shift so I get to deal with all this on my own.

If your children nap during the day, I would stop the naps. I had to stop my kids napping before 1year because they were not sleeping. Also make sure the kids get up early every day -- even weekends and stick to a schedule. If you are still having problems with the 2yr old talk to the doctor. Best of luck

what kind of food do you feed them during the day? they say that when they had too much junks, chocolates, fizzy drinks during the day, they become so hyper and carry it on during the night as well. so i guess, it's worth minding the kinds of food that they are having day in and day out. it's worth a try. good luck!

Setting the mood for sleep may also help. You can switch off the lights and if they cry, just let them. They will tire themselves crying and will eventually sleep. You may want to use the little lights for kidsnso they would still be amused but you have to tell them that it is used for sleeping time so they will get the mood to sleep. Then you may try singing a song to calm them so that they will get sleepy too. Hope this helps you.
