Glasses seem to be coming back in style and some people are even wearing them for fashion, despite the fact they don't need them. Others wear contacts because they are embarrassed wearing glasses, And I know people that won't wear either because they refuse to admit the have a vision problem. I have worn glasses since I was six years old. I have tried contacts, but I still prefer glasses, how about you what do you wear and why?

glasses vs contact lenses - this is a battle between glasses and contact lenses
i wear glasses right now but i think contact lenses are better because of the extra peripheral vision that you get. also people usually look better without glasses.

I have needed glasses myself since I was 7 years old to see. I know wear contacts. My glasses are so thick is the reason why I hate wearing glasses.

I actually should wear glasses/contacts as my eyes are terrible but i cannot stand wearing glasses. I loose ALL my confidence in myself as i do not feel like me, plus i hate that feeling you get on your nose after wearing them for a long time, it gets me feeling paranoid and touching my nose thinking my glasses are there. I do plan to try contacts and there is a free try-out offer on at the moment and i should give them a shot for the sake of my vision.

I started out with glasses when I was in middle school and hated the reaction I got. So in high school I switched to contact lenses and used those for many years. I didn't like the contacts because I had to take them out every night and if I didn't, I had problems. A couple of years ago I started a new job, veterinary assistant and kennel manager so I went back to glasses because of all the animal hair. Now I run my own farm and have stuck with the glasses, again, because of the animal hair.

I prefer contacts. I do not like glasses because I can not find any that would fit my face and stay fitting my face. I have a very narrow nose and the only glasses that fit me has those nose pieces. But those nose pieces are easily thrown off and the glasses just would not stay a perfect fit. Even when re-aligned by a professional, the nose pads would start to hurt my nose. So, I switched to contacts when I was 18 years old and have been wearing them since...I am now 32. I can wake up in the morning and see. I can take a shower and see. I can look at the clock in the middle of the night and see. There is no dropping my glasses in the middle of the night and not being able to find them. I do take out my contacts from time to time and I have found that it is very frustrating. I even have peripheral vision with contacts!! When I drive...I DO see a difference. So, I prefer contacts. :)

I started wearing glasses at 16 and did so till I was about 20 when I made the switch to contacts. There was still that geeky, nerdy association with glasses and I wanted to escape that and start chasing women...LOL. When I hit 30 i got tired of the hassle of contacts...the cleaning, losing them etc and now just wear glasses all the time.

I will prefer contact lenses but occassionally for fashion purposes wearing glasses are ok. Wearing spactacles regularly leaves a mark on your nose so I don't like it.

Luckily I still have fairly good eyesight despite abusing my eyes with all my reading so I have no need to wear either contacts or glasses yet. However if one day, God forbid, my eyesight fails then I would prefer to wear contacts rather than glasses because I find them quite cumbersome. My father, however, wears glasses but only when he reads and most of my friends also wear glasses. They say that maintaining contact lenses is quite expensive and also cumbersome because contacts can be quite irritating to the eyes when there's no moisture so you have to always bring the liquid solution with you. But whatever they say I would still prefer contacts to glasses.

I prefer contact lenses to glasses. Contacts are more comfortable for me, in glasses I feel uncomfortable. I don't like wearing enything besides clothes, even a watch or a ring. I have been wearnig glasses in the past, but when I first tried contacts, I knew that I'll be using them regularry. I don't mind the way I look in glasses, but contacts are number one for me:)

I wear glasses. I've had trouble with my eyesight since I was around 13 years old, I guess it runs in the family. I've heard a lot of negative things about contacts; about how they always irritate your eyes and how fussy they are, that's why I've never tried them. I've heard about someone who almost went blind because she wore her contacts while sleeping, and she had to get a cornea transplant or something. Is this true? Does anybody know?

Some poeple wear contacts because they can't stand glasses, i find glasses annoying! Anyways I wear contacts. But that is only because glasses are annoying and always move or you just feel them on the tip of your nose just there. I find that contacts are better because they are simple to remove and put back on, and because i don't have to switch them all the time, but glasses are easier to put on and you don't have to sWITCH THEM EVERY (sorry caps) week or so.

I wear glasses but unfortunately do not have the opportunity to wear contacts in that one of my eyes has a mind of its own and wanders, my brain shuts it down randomly and I also suffer double vision. Maybe when I lose the sight in that eye I would be able to have one lens but I was advised against that since there is a very small chance of infection with contacts and obviously it would not be a good idea to jeopardise that eye. There are so many choices in frames and lenses for glasses nowadays that I don't think they have the stigma that was once attached to wearing them. Indeed some stars seem perma welded to their sunglasses, so it must be very "cool" to wear glasses.

I wear glasses because I need to to see distant objects, I haven't tried contacts because sticking things in my eyes makes me uncomfortable.

I've worn glasses since 4th grade. I wore contacts for a little while in high school, but they irritated my eyes too much. A few years ago, I started again. A friend of ours does the contacts at our eye doctor's office, so she gives us sample packs. I have astigmatism, so they don't make my vision 20/20, but it's close enough that I can deal with it, and they're free. :) I love not having to worry about my DS pulling them off my face, or rain or swimming and such. I also think I look better without the glasses.

I wear contact lenses. I wear that for style. But I wear my glasses too, because when I am in home, then I seek for comfort, and then glasses are just the perfect thing to use. But I have actually no problem with using contact lenses. They are also quite comfortable.

I really don't have a preferene. I think that contacts can take away the fear of embarassment when you don't wanna wear glasses. But I feel like glasses give you a more sophisticated and more adultish looking style.
