I put some information on a book that i am looking for in the want it now section of ebay. But, I am wondering, how do people who have the object you want, know that you want it?Here's the book that I am desperately searching for.

I don't know if the want it now feature really works or not because I've never used it. However, when ther is a hard to find book that I REALLY want and I can't find it on eBay, I go to Book Finder ( www.bookfinder.com ) . Bookfinder is a website that searches several book places to see what's available. I looked up the book you wanted and I was able to find 3 copies, starting at 20 dollars.
Here is the link: http://www.bookfinder.com/search/?ac=sl&st=sl&qi=.5k9sbtfl3tKiseo6LXVT1jZ8HM_2803077124_1:2:3
I hope that helps...

I primarily use UK ebay but I imagine it works more or less the same way.
As a seller I regularly search the "want it now" section for things that I sell. In my case I usually do it for music because I mainly sell vinyl records, etc. I've sold loads of things doing it that way. So I imagine someone who mainly sells books will do the same thing - or they should be doing it anyway.
You never know though - someone might have it that see's this discussion! I hope you manage to get a copy anyway.
