The City of Manila is now preparing a homecoming party for Manny Pacquiao, who earlier in the day knocked out Jorge Solis of Mexico at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. According to a statement released by the city hall on Sunday afternoon, the homecoming ceremonies would include the traditional champion's parade for Pacquiao, "Manila's favorite adopted son." Pacquiao kept his World Boxing Council (WBC) International Super Featherweight Champion title in the Blaze of Glory boxing card and will arrive in Manila on Tuesday. The same statement said that an estimated 60,000 Manila residents trooped to nine different venues set up by the city government for a free public viewing of the fight, which was telecast live through giant screens in cooperation with Solar All Access. Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, however, said organizers of the event must consult first with the Commission on Elections because such activities might be covered by the election ban, noting that Pacquiao is a candidate for congressman. - GMANews.TV source: http://www.gmanews.tv/story/38437/Manila-all-set-to-welcome-Pacquiao-on-Tuesday

as always manny pacquiao's homecoming is always stained with politics... as i watched the news yesterday, it is clearly shown that lito atienza's son who is running for manila mayor is beside manny pacquiao during the motorcade in manila... as i can see it, it looks like a motorcade of the candidate atienza with manny pacquiao as his celebrity endorser...

Well, he better concentrate onhis career rather than wast his time and money on politics. Surely this wont do him any good. He might regret this joining of politics.
