What got you hooked on Futurama?

I have to admit, when Futurama was on FOX I didn't watch it that much. It was always being prempted by football and I had a hard time getting into it. In truth, I didn't even give it that much thought.
Then my boyfriend lent me his DVD's....I think after about 3 episodes I was totoally hooked (and stying up much too late watching the DVD's). Now I would say that I like Futurama better than the Simpsons. I think the humor is futurama is so smart and clever...in fact I know that there are some math and science jokes that go over my head, but I don't care.
The characters are great fun, and there is a good variety of them. This show also has amazing contuinity. When you go back and rewatch episodes you can really see the car they put into connecting the story.
What got you hooked on Futurama?

It was funny, plain and simple. My family always watched Sunday nights on Fox, and while some of the shows are absolutely horrible (War at Home anyone?) a lot are smart and funny, and tend to be cancelled way too soon (Arrested Developement anybody?) Futurama has such a different humor to it than The Simpsons. Unfortunately, when it was actually on, Fox moved it around so much, and it was always pre-empted, or they would stop airing it for awhile before starting again, that it was hard to keep track of. My brother has them on DVD, so I used to steal them all the time to watch. I need to get my own copies now.

Oh yes....FOX does have a habit of canceling some really great show *cough cough...Firefly...cough cough*, and Arrested Development was hilarious too. I think they do so many good shows in with poor scheduling., moving episodes around or just making impossible to even know when a show is on.
I'm so glad to see Futurama get a second life though.

I also got hooked thanks to the DVDs. I was able to catch it on Fox once or twice, and i liked it okay, but then gave up because football would push it back. I guess the episodes I did catch were not the better ones because years later, after I moved in with my sister, she got a hold of the DVDs. Since we don't have cable and are always looking for things to watch, we decided to give it a shot. By the second disc, we were both hooked. The show is just so clever and the characters are great, especially Bender. Bender is great!
My friends and I are so hooked on the show, that every year someone comes up with a new Futurama themed Halloween costume. Last year my boyfriend and I had brain slugs. One year, I was even Nibbler! Needless to say, when my friends and I got hooked, we really went big time.

Bender is great! I also love Zoidberg and Hermes.....and Zap Branagan. My boyfriend immitates im often. Much to my (mock) horror.

I watched it a bit when it was on FOX and got fairly into it then. When it stopped airing on FOX I sort of forgot about, then it showed up on adult swim, and I got REALLY excited. The humor is pretty amazing, and it definitely is more "adult" than a lot of other cartoons.

A while back I was flipping channels and found the episode with Zoidberg eating the flag. I officially became addicted. It's such a funny show!

I hardley ever watched it when it was on TV.
The i was out one day and i saw the season 1 box set for £20. So i had the money on me and just randomly bought it. then i watched it and NEEDED more!.
Zoidberg just made me laugh so much i bought the rest of the collection just for him cos he rocks :P

Futurama is a good show. what got me hooked was the first episode. he dilivers a pizza and gets froazen for 1000 years.

Yea futurama is a really good show. like 7 months ago i heard that they were going to put it back on the air. i like the story line.
