Do you like thunderstorms?  

Most of the time I do, I like watching the lightening flash in the sky and hear the crack of thunder.

But on Sunday night, the Northeaster that hammered the east coast from Maine to South Carolina was bad, and even though we are farthur west, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we got our share of bad weather. Power was out for over 24 hours in half the town, schools and businesses were closed, and I had to drive to the other side of town just to put gas in my car yesterday.

On Sunday night, the thunder was cracking above my house so loud that it was shaking my whole house, and it was quite awesome but scary! The animals were freaked out, and there wasn't much I could do to comfort them. The wind was bad too, at upwards of 70 miles per hour. There are big old rotten trees on the neighboring lot and we were worried that one of them would fall on our house.

Today, businesses are back open and life goes on, the sun is shining and except for the downed tree limbs and such, it's as if the storm never happened.
