How do I host a housewarming party?

Most of the time, it's the home owner that has the party, but it's great you have offered. I suggest be at the "new" house, so people can get a "look" Most card stores have cute invitations in the cut out of a house. Depending on the time, either do a dinner buffet, Sunday brunch or have the party at say 7pmand do a table of apps (Spinach dip with cracker toast to dip, veggie platter, shrimp platter, cheese and pepperoni platter, deviled eggs, pigs in a blanket etc...) For drinks, I would offer soda, wine, water, beer(Set them up on the counter with ice in an ice bucket, along with the cups/glasses so people can help themselves). If it's a Sunday brunch don't forget mimosa's. You can get alot of paper goods at the dollar store. If it's in the evening, if safe, have candles around. As far as a theme, the theme is housewarming.:)

When our church has a housewarming we usual y have every one bring some finger food. Some of the things that come are meatball in a sauce made with piqcanti sauce mixed with grape jelly kept hot in a crock pot. It is very good. some one brings flour tortillas pin wheels with cream cheese and thinly sliced ham. fruit and vegetable trays are good too We do it this way sort of as an open house
