aside from michael jordan, who's your all-time favorite basketball player? |
| |
| i'd pick charles barkley. he's not really a talented or skilled basketball player like michael jordan or isiah thomas and not as tall as kareem adbul-jabbar and hakeem olajuwon, but what made him stand out is his heart. he has great desire to win. he averages a constant double-double in every season despite standing only 6-foot-6. he uses his force and will to get through the paint and grab rebounds and he makes his own shots. plus he's a good defender too. he brings energy and tenacity to the court everytime he's in. and he's fearless too. he gets into guys like shaquille o'neal, karl malone and of course, dennis rodman. charles barkley proved that hardwork really pays off. he is the 1993 NBA MVP, outdoing michael jordan and led the phoenix suns to the 1993 championship, edging powerhouse teams like houston, utah and seatte in the west. | | | | | |

| | Yes, I agree with you my friend.Sir Charles is my all time favorite player in NBA.I even idolized his style of play as power forward.Even here in our place my friends always called me Barkley whenever I do my power move in the paint.Being a one time Most Valuable Player and One of the 50 greatest player and a Basketball Hall of Fame, I am proud to say that Sir Charles Barkley is my all time favorite NBA player. | | | | | | |

| | besides michael jordan, my number two would be vince carter. and the reason is because he dunks like crazy. if i could jump and dunk like vince and jordan, then i don't mind jumping over people and posterize them, and mocking them after each highlight and each play. that is from a DUNKING point of view. but serioulsy speaking, my number two would be kobe bryant really. in his early years, he took dunking into a new level in the late 90's but it was vince who evolved dunking/jumping further. but unlike kobe, vince has yet to win a championship. kobe has 3 already, 3 straight for that matter. kobe is a clutch performer as well, if he needs to he will make the final shot and the final play for that matter. not only is he a scoring threat like jordan before, he is great defender as well. not really known for his shot blocking but rather more of a tight close-up player who can strip the ball from you and make you change your shot as well. we all know he can score when he is on fire.. yes, at times he takes ill-advised shots and fancy ones as well, but he sure makes up for it the next play around. give him the ball, and he will make the right plays and moves. | | | | | | |

| | vince carter owns the sickest dunk in the olympics. leaping over 7-foot-2 frenchman frederick weiss literally for a dunk. no one has ever done that to a man that tall in a game | | | |

| | And what's more: it was literally an in-your-face dunk that really left the Frenchman with no choice but to let his head hang low in shame. Sick, really sick dunk from Carter, that one. | | | |

| | im a big fan of KING JAMES.. despite his age, he acomplished a lot. i mean, a LOT!! he erased some records and participated in such events that will change the history of basketball. by now, lebron james is unstoppable and there's no other player like him right now in the NBA. | | | | | | |

| | more years to come and lebron james will no longer be named as king james but king of the nba. he's got tremendous athleticism and strength. he's got the potential for greatness | | | |

| | yeah, he's already great, but he has not yet proven a lot. he's still got a lot. he's young and could develop even more. we even have not seen half of lebron james full potential | | | |

| | A championship (which I honestly don't think they - the Cavaliers - can get this year) the next few seasons will change all that. He's easily the best player Cleveland has, and if they get the championship, he'll deserve most of the credit. And when that happens, he'll have proven a lot and as much as he has to prove. | | | |

| | I pick Dennis Rodman, Tracy McGrady, and Reggie Miller for different reasons. Rodman has the swagger, the bad boy aura, and on or off the court he's intensity personified. Tracy McGrady has amazing capabilities of taking over a game, though not as much as Michael Jordan (or perhaps Kobe Bryant) can, but what I really like about the player is the athleticism and the grace in laying the ball up or dunking it through the hoop. Finally, Reggie Miller has what it takes to finish games off with his unbelievable clutch shooting from long-range. | | | | | | |

| | setting aside his badboy image, dennis rodman is no skilled player. but what made him stand out is his heart and passion for the game. he grabs rebounds and dives for loose balls, its takes a lot of heart to do those things. not all players are willing to do that | | | |

| | But you have to agree that his so-called "bad boy" persona stirs intimidation on the part of some of his opponents. That can be useful in many situations. | | | |

| | id pick JASON "mr. TRIPLE-DOUBLE" KIDD, future HALL-OF-FAMER. He maybe a point guard but average more than any point guards in terms of rebounds and assists. He has a great understanding about the game. He's awesome. He is one of the top of players in career triple-double. He accomplished more triple-double than the GREAT MJ. And speaking of records, he now holds the record along with Chamberlain, and Johnson in averaging more than once a triple-double in a playoff series. The guy maybe 6-3 but he average more rebound to some of the leagues centers, in comparison Ilgauskas average 7+ rpg and the small guy average 8.2 rpg. Heights doesnt matter its the mental toughness that matters. He may be old, but still putting some numbers and still doing some record-breaking feats. He's 36, but can you find a point-guard at his age or any body else in the active roster in the league averaged more triple-double's than him? Answer is nobody else. You cant just KIDD him around. | | | | | | |

| | My favorite all time player is shaq. His dunks were close to impossible to stop back in the day and they still are. Back then he was faster, less overweight, and more explosive. If only he could shoot at least 80% of his free throws he would have won much more and probably would be the greatest ever. | | | |
