And what about the other people in your life? I don't get the whole birthday thing.. I realize it's thoughtful to celebrate everyone but if everyone gets equal representation then whats the difference. If you care about someone just treat them well on a regular basis. Does it make sense to love the birthdays? As i get a bit older it feels a bit more corporate..

I think my birthday is important to me because no matter we dont have money, my mother will always have her way to buy me a cake and ice cream and that's for sure. As for me my birthday is important because i get to eat foods that really taste good.

Birthdays are a source for unity in families and such a representatin can be very beutiful.. i agree.. but is it also not superficial?

When I was younger, I like birthday celebration because there was party, birthday cake and foods. And the most exciting part is birthday presents! But when I get to the age where I do not want people to know, I just dont think that celebrating birthday is necessary, lol.

I guess its your connection to your family, namely your parents and thats good day to celebrate. But i think people over extend the significance of birthdays still.. maybe just to the wrong places that is
