My grandmother has done a lot of research, genealogy. We're Norwegian, Swedish, and German on both sides of my family. It was pretty easy to research some of it since I'm only fourth generation Norwegian and German on my mothers side ;)

My Uncle is doing the family tree thing for us. He wants to try to go back all the way to the beginning though. It will take him time to do that. We even have a family site where it is good to be able to swap information and pictures that will make the search easier and it keeps the family in touch. I do know that my grreat-grandmother was part Cherokee Indian and I am proud of that fact I am very interested in Indians and how they lived and I love reading about them because they were part of my hertiage. We are alot of other hertiage in my family also I can't recall what they are right now but I will look it up. It is funny how when forms and surveys ask us if we are white, african american, indian,etc.. that you are allowed give only one answer when infact none of us are truly a white caucasion because we haven't really clue as to the true blood that actually runs through our veins. I think maybe they should have a called variety so that we can atleast be more truthful to ourselves.I never knew my dad and I don't know anything about his hertiage which is a shame I should see if my uncle could also look that up for me. Well happy hunting and I hope you find out all kinds of good interesting facts. My uncle learned that we were related to Ricky Skaggs and a few others who have made it big. Funny thing we lived a mile up the road from Ricky Skaggs and his parents in Blaine, Ky when I was 13-14. And I actually got to meet them all. It was great.

I am part German English and Welsh. My father's family came from Northern and Southern German, and there might be some Dutch in me and my mother's family might have some ancient Roman in them as well as Danish Viking if you go back far enough. I happen to be on the short side, rather than the tall side and my maternal grandmother was also a bit short as well.

I hav also been doing a little research of my family roots. I think what started this is because my family has started dying off at an alarming rate, it seems. I am black and Cherokee , with a touch of Irish and Scots thrown in for good measure. It is only as I have gotten older that I can truly embrace who I am and where I came from. I love all people and would hope that they would love and accept me in turn.

I have been working on my family tree for 30 years, some branches more successful than others! lol amazing how many courthouses burned down way back when and records were lost. However, I have learned that I am of Scottish and Irish descent. And there is also a lovely castle in Scotland, with our family name, although I haven't found the link back to it (my family name is not that common) I would love to have the chance to go there and stay at the castle, it has been turned into a hotel. And for me, I would love to take all the documentation I would need to sign in/register under my family name, I think that would be very cool.

Thats always an interesting question. My Mom's side is 100% Polish. According to my Grandfather on my Dad's side, the heritage is Polish, Lithuanian,Czech, and Yugoslavian. But, the family tree shows all of branches originated within 150 miles of one another but at different times when Poland was occupied and/or occupying other countries. So, in essence, I'm mostly Polish. The kicker is my last name is Russian Jewish. My grandfather would never give a straight answer on the Jewish part, but said we were not Russian. Oral history says we are also part Jewish. My wife is the one with the very interesting family tree...mostly English, part dutch, some American Indian, Lithuanian, Polish, and Jewish. I find her genealogy to be more fascinating and historical. Mostly because it goes back farther then mine.
