okay, so a few celebrities have had these for a while.
there were some availiable through the
We Are What We Do website.
anyway, today a limited number of them were availiable for £5 in sainsburys supermarket and some people have been goigng to slightly insane lengths to get them.
IT'S JUST A BAG.
they are selling for at least £100 on e-bay, earlier today it was sometimes nearer £200.
I just don't get it.
look.

anyway, the idea behind the bag is good. I keep a canvas bag in my handbag when I shop so I don't have to take a plastic one. the idea is very sound and right.
but this is crazy. according to some people who went to get a bag, people were buying it and taking it away in a plastic carrier bag. how pathetic is that. they want them because they've seen a few people in a rubbish magazine carrying them, not for what it means. not because they want a sturdy canvas bag to cut down on waste when they shop. for a lot of these people you just know that they won't take so much as one less carrier bag when they go shopping because of this.
still, I wish I'd got one.
I'd sell it on e-bay for a ridiculous profit and treat myself to something nice.

I do think that the whole idea behind these bags is brilliant, and I found it pretty funny when a few celebs were started to be seen carrying them and similar ones around, like a fashion statement. However, the reports of this morning were completely insane...especially that people were taking the canvas bags away inside a plastic bag! That's ridiculous. I don't really do much shopping, but when I do I take a rucksack and just put stuff I buy in there. If I'm only going to get one thing which needs a bag but aint enough for me to take a rucksack, I'll recycle the plastic bag. My mum uses bag for lifes and similar canvas bags for her shopping, and if she goes a little crazy and buys too much to fit into those bags, she'll recycle any plastic ones. Mlah.

Well what can I say...people will buy things just to be fashionable or whatever is the vogue just to be popular..to say hey..lookie at me...aren't I cool! I have canvas bags too...ones I get at a craft website...plain ole white canvas..then I paint them up in designs and sell--heheh for about $25--which is still quite cheap...But people who want something cause it's popular will buy ANYTHING to make some kind of "fashion" statement...Like for the life of me can't understand why a person will buy ratty, tatty cut up jeans that look like they're from the year of the flood, shell out about $625.OO just cause it has Versace on it
