Ever had the feeling like you can hardly wait for something?

So true! Yet when you need more time, it all goes by so quickly.

I used to really get excited about Christmas and Easter. Now I still do a bit about Christmas because I want to give people their presents.

I did that before, wishing for a summer to pass. But I wanted it to end so I could see who shot Mr. Burns on the Simpsons. I was a bit disappointed there.

So The Tudors is actually good? I kept seeing previews when I was watching The L Word. I wish The L Word seasons weren't spaced so far apart. Maybe I'll have to watch The Tudors sometime (in between studying ochem and who knows what else).

Who shot Mr Burns was cute. Yes Tudors is great. It is not your parnents version of Henry VIII. There is a lot of love scenes, hey its Showtime, but it is good.

I hated summer vacations when I was a kid. I wanted to be in school. From the time I was 9 years old I worked in the fields picking beans, strawberries, you name it to pick up some spending money. I was brought up by the saying....idle hands are the devil's workshop. It wasn't out of necessity but rather to teach us the value of a dollar earned. Besides that there was no TV then and the radio soap operas never ended and if I remember correctly they went on all year without summer vacations. Of course, they were only 15 minutes a day so they could be pre-recorded for the summer months. +

Oh wow, that must have been exciting though going to so many different places.

I hope my glasses will finally meet my expectations too.:)

First off, thanks for the BR. One's first tour overseas is always the most frightening as you have no experience to fall back on and are at the mercy of your fellow workers to help you. After the first one under the belt it gets easier. My assignments were all that exciting but I made the most of them...TDY DomRep during the revolution; TDY La Paz, Bolivia; PCS Quito, Ecuador; PCS Bogota, Colombia (before the drug wars); and PCS Saigon, South Vietnam which I dearly loved....leaving just two weeks before the city fell. I recommend State Department and the Foreign Service to everyone looking for travel and adventure. +

Definitely. Now I've split my anticipation... anticipation for glasses arriving and for my new DSLR!!

I got my camera on Tuesday and my glasses today!

Midterm on Friday (tomorrow) so I still haven't tried out my camera. But I am wearing the glasses right now. They help quite a bit. I think the problem is, I'm hoping for perfect vision and that probably isn't going to be possible. But my vision is significantly improved.

I'm glad that your vision has improved:) Maybe one day you can have the laser surgery done on your eyes. My hubby wants to do that.

Laser surgery won't help my eyes. But maybe someday I'll be able to have contacts at least.:)

Oh because of your light sensitivities right? That sucks. Hopefully one day you will be able to get contacts then.

Light sensitivity can't be corrected by laser surgery. Neither can amblyopia. Nothing is wrong with my lenses (the ones in my eyes) which is what lasers correct. Theoretically, if you just looked at my eyes you'd see two nice very healthy eyes that should have 20/20 vision. So nothing that can be corrected as far as the physical aspect.

That really sucks sweetie:(
