I love my neti pot. I had never heard of it until I saw it on Oprah. Then as luck would have it I ended up with a bad sinus infection not too long after it. It seemed like it would be uncomfortable but it was very soothing and I believe it helped me get better faster. I hate to take a lot of medicine, which is what attracted me to this in the first place. I can certainly appreciate why some people would be hesitant, but I have been very pleased with mine!

I just started using it and have already noticed a difference. My nose feels better and can breathe easier through my nose, though my throat still has mucus. It seems to be working much better than the antibiotics my doctor gave me.

I love mine too. I feel like I am fighting a cold right now and it does really help sooth as you put it. I have found that I do better if I do not use the whole salt packet. One side of my nose is blocked so it does take a little while for the water to start draining. I tend to gag a little bit on that side. I also have issues with my tonsills I get these nasty little curds that pop out. They drive me crazy feels like I have a boulder in my throat. Anyway the neti pot seems to get those out as well. Who knows maybe I have those nasty things in my adnoids too. Anyway I hope I didnt gross you out! THanks for your post!

I have been using a neti pot for over 5 years now. I started using it because of allergies and sinus infections. I work with wood and I am allergic to most pollens. The recipe for this easy. For each 1/4 cup of distilled water, add 1/4 teaspoon uniodized sea salt and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. Warm the water to a temperature that is not too hot to the feel. The instructions for using the pot come with it. I flush both sides of my nose twice and then tip my head forward for the sinuses to drain. You might experience some sneezing afterward. It is used before meditating to allow for deeper breathing. I have not had to resort to antibiotics for sinus infections for many years. I actually start using it at the first sign of a cold so that the sinuses stay moist and the bacteria is flushed out. During high pollen counts and after working in the yard I also use it. It really is a much better way than having to use medications. I hope that I have been of some help. Good luck!

I am getting ready to try it for the first time as I just ordered it online and will be waiting anxiously to try it. Hopefully it will work for me as I have been having sinus and allergy problems for the past few weeks. One of my coworkers recommended it so I thought I would give it a try. Antibiotics do not seem to be helping.
