I skip meals all the time and sometimes dont eat at all all day if I am doing a full shift at work and generally I feel okay. Sometimes though if I don't have naything for breakfast then i can start to feel a bit weak so I drink orange juice to avoid that.

I work in a kitchen and I literally do not have the time to eat most weekends. When I do have the time I do try but you have got to understand that when working with food so often it can actually lead to loss of appetite so it tends to be once I am in my bed at night I realise that I have not eaten.

I understand. I used to work in food service as well and I know how easy it is to develop disdain for what you're serving. At the same time, keeping things to nibble on (maybe things that you aren't serving all the time) will keep you fed and keep your metabolism going so you have energy.

Skipping a meal is not advisable. At the end of the day, your body will store as much fat as it can get from what you took usually dinner. Also, Hyper-acidity could happen too.

i've skipped many meals in the past. most of the time due to busy schedule. i try not to do that so often anymore as it has messed up my metabolism it seems. furthermore in the long run, i do not wish to see myself having gastric attacks and eventually gastric ulcers. scary thought. you are not thinking of going on a diet are u?

Skipping meals isn't very healthy. I know it might seem like you're doing a good thing because you're saving calories, but if anything, you need to eat more often. The reason for this is because when you start skipping meals, undereating or outright starving yourself, your body gets confused and starts reacting as if you were in an environment where food isn't plentiful. Your metabolism will slow down because your body is trying to conserve energy, and anything you do eat will be hoarded and stored as fat because your body doesn't know when you will be fed again. It's nature, really. When you don't eat, you don't burn fat. You store it. And if you do lose weight, you will be losing water and precious lean muscle tissue. It's easier for your body to eat its own muscle instead of digging into the fat stores.
But when you eat every 3-4 hours (and eat the rights types of foods--veggies, high protein foods, complex carbohydrates), then your body realizes that it's being fed the right way and doesn't feel the need to hoard everything. You will burn fat, particularly if you exercise.
