Anybody know what's the use of a CFA?

This is usually one of the initial papers you gotta achieve in order to become some sort of Financial Analyst or Investor, be it personal or not. Usually taken by people who are pursuing a career in investing or financial planning. Correct me if I am wrong, it is one of the first papers in a series of certifications for financial advisers.
